Uninternational I-tunes

Well I just downloaded I-tunes, against my better judgement as I believe they are trying to restrict the market unfairly, and attempted to access for downloading one of the Discomusic.com compilations, (Disco 935) but cannot download from U.S. website without U.S. C.C. and is not available on U.K. website and if it was would probably be .99p against .99cents a tune, (i.e.1.85x more expensive).

So just deleted I-tunes from computer and resume my negative attitude towards them with a vengaence.

Who are these guys kidding, try and use the internet to profit but not offer the functionality of internet to it's customers. This is not a free market, wake up U.S.A.

I think you have this wrong because it is not Apple that puts these regional restrictions, but the music companies. Same as with the regions imposed by the movie companies on DVDs.

Apple has done a tremendous job with iTunes despite the strong-arm tactics of the music labels. In fact Apple never wanted to use DRM and all the other nonsense like higher prices that the labels want. iTunes is a killer piece of software that has allowed me to catalogue all my music and re-experience it to its fullest. Download iTunes!

Indeed. Just as record companies are only permitted to distribute music in a given territory, Apple is too. It's frustrating that one can't get "imports" on iTunes.

The record companies wanted things much more tightly controlled. They are still pushing for higher prices (Apple has refused), stricter DRM, etc. Compare iTunes with any of the other legal music sites (such as Sony's dismal one) and it fares quite well. There's a good reason why iTunes currently has the bulk of the online music business.

I personally don't buy music from the iTunes store, yet I still use iTunes extensively myself for encoding my own tracks. As lossy compression schemes go, AAC blows away MP3 in terms of fidelity.

Sorry I tunes, I should have said, 'Big Brother Record Companies" !!!! along with "Big brother Drug Companies" and "Big Brother Tobacco Companies" and "Big Brother Farming industry" the point is that the U.S. goes out into the world preaching free markets to rip everyone else off but in fact practices the complete opposite and here is the perfect example .

It makes you wonder how far this inherent dishonesty extends into the realms of Iraq and definitely "Big Brother Israel".

Sorry guys but I want my favourite 12" mixes on MP3 and "Big Brother" won't let me have them.:-?
