    Instrumentals

    Hi!
I'm nuts for disco instrumentals in the style of The Hustle, Get Down With The Philly Sound, T.S.O.P., Love's Theme and many of the Salsoul Orchestra. Does anybody know more titles/bands that could interest me?
    Thanks:razz:

    Re: Instrumentals

Your selections are all over the place. By that, I mean, you'd probably like any instrumental. I would recommend starting with other songs by the artists who did the songs you listed. So, Van McCoy, MFSB, Salsoul Orchestra, and The Love Unlimited Orchestra. If you like the LUO sound, get Gene Page's 'Hot City' album, since it's essentially a LUO record. Same goes with the soundtrack to 'Together Brothers'. It's mainly an instrumental.

After that, check out stuff by guys like Eddie Drennon, The Brothers, as well as instrumentals like 'Express' by BT Express or 'Movin' by Brass Construction (there are some vocals).

    Check out:

    - Vincent Montana
    - Ripple - The beat goes on (and on)
    - Walter Murphy & The Big Apple Band
    - Bebu Silvetti - Spring rain
    - Patrice Rushen - check her albums, there are some great instrumentals like "Number One"
    - Motown Sounds - Bad Mouthin'
    - Deodato - check out his 70's/80's releases
    - Herb Alpert - check his 80's releases
    - The Mike Theodore Orchestra
    - Harry Thuman - Underwater

If you feel you want to explore more dance oriented instrumentals, check out:

    - Paul Hardcastle
    - Shakatak
    - Brooklyn Friends - Philadelphia
    - Club 69 - Love is the message
    - Wally Badarou - Chief inspector
    - Azymuth - Dear Limmertz

The longest list of instrumentals will come from Smooth Jazz artists. That list is going to be too long to type:sad:

If I think of more I will let you know
