Sorry, but the only Wave I know about is Uniwave Records in Canada....
Early 80's, new wave, can you identify this . . .
Then I learned the treasure has ended
you were with my best friend
ain't got not class, ain't got no respect
my broken heart was never meant
If you buy this record your life, will be better.
Sorry, but the only Wave I know about is Uniwave Records in Canada....
This sounds familiar to me--BUT I'm not that good with lyrics. At least. if they aren't the chorus.
One question:
Does the last line you quoted end with the words "to mend"???
That's what's coming to me. If that's the case, I'm pretty sure I know it--BUT I don't have any guesses yet. :???:
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
It sounds like "Jukebox" by The Flirts.
Nrg is right. Marky's right about the lyrics too: that last line should be "my broken heart will never mend."
But then I didn't know they were singing "the treasure had ended"; I always thought they said "the treacherous end." Of course, the lyrics were never the strongest part of a song by the Flirts!
\"...a once in a lifetime feeling that returns every week...\"
AH, it's all coming back to me now!!!!
Of course, The Flirts came to me when I read that post this morning. BUT nrg & Jeff got there first. BUT, those lyrics are not exactly accurate, as Jeff pointed out.
No big whoop, however.
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
If you want, you can tell your Flirts/Aloha Records story again.
Oh nrg,
You KNOW I ALMOST went there--BUT, I do enough repeating of old material. Jeff was shocked that all I could come up with to slam Franco the other day was my tired old Bette Davis line..."But cha are Blanche, BUT YA ARE"!!!!! He was most disappointed in my recycling of stale OLD material. I told him it was summer and I'm in reruns. So, the Flirts story (The Day They Gave An In-Store and NO ONE Showed Up) will just have to live on in the memories of the charter member crowd.
Unless anyone REALLY wants to hear it again.?????!!!!! (Now, don't be yankin' my chain).
Oh, PLEASE, Miss Mildew, tell us the old Aloha stories!!!!!! Or a variation on "Of Mice And Men": "Marky, tell us about the rabbits...!!!!"
"Well, boys and girls, long ago and far away... in the olden days,..... one Saturday evening in the town called San Francisco........"
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
MARKYDEFAD or is that Marquis de sade. Surely you'd get soooo much pleasure in retelling the story. Ouch
It's the Flirts all right.Nrg is right. Marky's right about the lyrics too: that last line should be "my broken heart will never mend."
But then I didn't know they were singing "the treasure had ended"; I always thought they said "the treacherous end." Of course, the lyrics were never the strongest part of a song by the Flirts!
You guys are right about the lyrics, and the treacherous end is definitely what I hear now, how funny. Sorry english is not my main language, being french, I am trying my best.
