Smile Boys Town Gang and Cruisng the Streets

Hi to all! I really appreciated reading the commentary by those about Boys Town Gang. I thought you would appreciate my 2 cents worth: I was almost 21, very much in the closet so imagine my thrill at hearing that notorious cop and orgy dialogue for the first time! Who cares what straights would think anyway, Boys Town Gang were loud n'proud, so I chose to be as well!

To me, the essence of the song is a huge Gay fantasy - a cop in uniform turns out hunky and horny to boot!, a scary arrest with a pleasurable twist, almost all of the erotic charge of Tom of Finland rolled into a deep-thrusting, amyl-fuelled erotic beat that exactly captures all of that time and they say what they mean and mean exactly what they say! Glory Hallelujah, my eyes were opened wide!

A disco classic for sure, adventurous, daring and too the point! More gay than Gloria Gaynor, more camp than that 'I am what I am" mess, more cock-sure than "It's raining men" could ever be! Thankyou for the music guys, The Boys Town Gang should be voted into the Hall of Fame under a special category: Genius of Lurve !:icon_twisted:

It's funny, but at the time my English was very limited and I always assumed they were having a "sandwich" with the woman in the middle  Isn't she moaning too?
It don't mean a thing (if ain't got that swing)

I was always amazed that they were makind diso like this in 82. It sounds more like an album from 78 or something. (I have 2 boys town gang records)

I always thought that the Boystown Gang were trying for a 'retro' sound & recaptured the late 70s sound on their records. This must've been a defiant '2 fingers' to the prevailing attitude in the US that disco was 'dead'. Good for them!
    ...ya gotta beat the street......
