Ganymed - Future World (Bellaphon Germany) 1979, they also did the fantastic =music takes me higher=...these guys are from Austria / I happen to know the bass player. dont know if they ever made it into the charts in the states....sounds a bit like cerrone, with a more popy touch!!Originally Written by buckaroo
The ones I knew for sure were:
Cosmo Wave & The Space Cadets - Star Trekin'
Peter Batah - Rock Me Now
Lalo Schifren - Amityville Horror Theme (which I did a killer remix of long time ago)
Gino Soccio - There's A Woman
and the Ganymed tune which you already mentioned (speaking of soundin like Cerrone.."We Like You" by Ganymed is a pure Supernature rip off ive always thought)
a few of the tunes in the begining I knew as well, but couldnt tell ya artist or title. So how'd I do? lol

id love to hear the remix of yours, what a tune, drama to the max and real forward thinking sounds, i.e. the break sounds like an acid bassline and that was 79! great arrangement as well
Any chance of some position timings for these?Originally Written by DJ Jimmy M

Really good stuff here. Alas, the only track I know from BITD is the Starsound one. Are these all from the same period? Between 1978 and 1980-ish?
Glad you like it! makes me want to compile pt.2, with more attention to clean mixingOriginally Written by buckaroo
.
yep the majority of these tracks are from 78/79, with the exception of:
Dondolo – Dragon (Brennan Green Remix) 2006
I thought I'd include this, cause there are a few nu-disco producers around worthy checking out! Brennan is one of them (so are Todd Terje/Prins Thomas & norwegian crew, etc.)
David Astri - Dancing Digits
Voyage – Follow the brightest star (LP: One step higher 1982, on Polydor France)
Cosmic Hoffmann (1982, EMI)
Cheyne - Call me mr. telephone (1985, MCA)
Do another!! The mixing's fine :DOriginally Written by Johnny Chingas
I've been listening to it near enough every day, even at work with big headphones on - :-? Me supervisor keeps giving me 'why aren't you doing any work?' type looks.
I'll never look at Star Trek the same way again...
Ha HA! that made me laugh...I been hassled by those kind of supervisors before...'hey what time do you call that...hey you didnt shave that's JUST not acceptable' yeah right on!!...Originally Written by buckaroo
will keep you updated when the next one's ready....funny you say that Star Trek ALWAYS get fantastic feedback from the crowd...was playing at Fabric in London 3 weeks ago with Danny Wang from Balihu Rec. and was suprised when he leaned over the decks to check out that tune...
hmm maybe worth an extended re-edit?
thanks for your kind compliments..this is what keeps us going!
So are you based in the UK as well and did you witness disco back in the day?
Yes I'm from London, and without giving any age numbers away :-? I'm old enough to recall a disco tune or two...8)Originally Written by Johnny Chingas
I notice Amazon.co.uk have the Ganymed CD for £8.99...Very tempting...
same here - lets say I was a teenager in the 80s & that's where I when I first appreciated disco, funk, soul, boogie & italo etc.Originally Written by buckaroo
I ve got the LP on both vinyl & CD, so I could burn you a copy, unless you don't agree with ripping CD's... pm me if you want us to send you one lol.
I wouldn't mind a copy...But I dunno what Bernie may say...:-?
