I'm trying to find the name of the singer or group that recorded an old Disco song that I think was titled "Love Is In You." Can anyone help?

"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
What if it was:
Love's in you, love's in me
from Giorgio (Moroder) & Chris
If you buy this record your life, will be better.
Disco1999, unfortunately, that's not the song. The song I'm thinking of was more along the lines of the Latin Disco flavor. But thanks for trying.
Markydefad, would you happen to know any of the lyrics so I can verify?

oh gawd, I don't know what the lyrics actually were and I'd have to play it to decipher...but I'll try from memory.:???::???::???:
Around 130 bpm from 1979--but played into the early Eighties at Trocadero....uptempo with a male vocal and female backup...has a shimmering "tropical" feel with a lovely piano part.
there's this part:
"you know it's you that I desire
my love is burning up like fire
it keeps on, keeps on getting higher,--- Higher,---HIGHER--BABY" (this is a great build)...then the piano and percussion play
"you know that love is in you girl
.......shows in....every
my love is shining brighter"
...... (it's that male Euro vocal that doesn't make it easy to recall or understand)
The girls sing:
Only I can get to you
But it makes me feel better
so come on let's get it on
come on baby" (or something like that)
"Love's in you/ love's in you" (several times)
Does this sound familiar?:-o:-o:-o

Those lyrics do sound familiar. I've been looking through my old vinyl so see if I might have a copy of it. When I worked for Casablanca, they used to throw LPs and 12 inchers on our desks every morning as they were released and most of them I either put in a crate or gave away. But those lyrics do sound familiar.

casablanca boy--first of all, if ya WORKED AT CASABLANCA!!!!--you should know this!!! YIKES!!!! FREEBIES!!!!:lol::lol:
Go to allmusic.com--do a search for "Love Is In You"; they show 5 matches and they have sound clips on nearly all of them by Nightlife Unlimited. This should answer your question.
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
When they'd pile them on our desks, I normally wouldn't look through them or sometimes not even take them. I didn't really start paying attention to disco music until about 6 months after I got there. I was a KISS fan (don't hate me). We had a ton of offshoot lables as well so there were too many freebies to keep up with.
But thanks for the info, I'm pretty sure you're correct.
Were you in the music biz as well?

I eventually started taking them. I have several cool 12 inchers from the offshoot lables that I am going to try and transfer to CD. I have one called "Save and Spend" by Cheryl Barnes, which was on the Millennium lable. I always liked that one. I have no idea how good they sound as I haven't used a turntable in quite a while, but it will be fun to find out.

"Save and Spend" is a great song. You'll be pleasantly surprised if you got into disco at all. I hope you kept your 12"s by Brooklyn Dreams on the same Millennium label. Good stuff!Originally Written by Casablanca Boy

Hi Casablanca Boy,
will you spare us some Neil Bogart stories please. Any coke mountain on the desk? Famous singers/musicians staying in bathrooms for hours? Wild parties? Gossip, you know. Pleeeez!![]()
It don't mean a thing (if ain't got that swing)
Well, I hate to disappoint you, but if you've worked in the music business, you learn to be discreet if you want to continue working in it. But I can tell you this, the drug and party stories you hear about Neil and Casablanca here HIGHLY exaggerated. People have really had a field day with those stories just for the sake of an interview or to add texture to their books depicting the disco era. Studio 54 yes . . . Casablanca, not really.
The label couldn't have been as successful as it was if everyone had spent their time doing mountains of coke and hanging out in bathrooms all day. I never once saw Neil do any drugs myself, and I was in his office any number of times during the day. He usually had his kids in the office during summers, so I doubt he would have behaved inappropriately around them. From what I could tell, he was a terrific father. I’m sure someone somewhere was doing something, it was the 70’s after all, but nobody blatantly did drugs during working hours or off of desks. It was a busy company.
I did have the wonderful opportunity of working with Neil’s son Tim Bogart on a television production a few years back and he was every bit the gentleman his dad was and a pleasure to work with.
I know you wanted juicy gossip, but during working hours, it was a typical work day. NOW had you asked me who was sleeping with who and who “I” slept with, THAT’S another story!!!!

OK. Who was sleeping with who?![]()
Now seriously: thanks for the response. I didn't want to sound disrespectful... It's just that, you know, Casablanca is stuff of legend here. It's cool to have someone who was there and can tell things firsthand.
As an average DiscoMusic.com forum member, I want to know... (trying to not sound overexcited): hey, did you get to see Giorgio and Donna? How were them in person?
BTW, did you get to know Kiss personally? How was that?
Be prepared to receive many questions :icon_mrgreen:

I never met Mr. Moroder personally, but I did see him with Donna next door at Susan Munao Management. Casablanca was actually one office building and a converted apartment building on Sunset Boulevard, just west of Laurel Canyon. I remember having lunch with Susan Munao’s secretary a couple of times next door at the “Source” which was a health food / vegetarian restaurant. The memories sort of blend together as it was such a fun and busy time, but I do recall seeing Cindy Bullens in her black leather jacket having a photo session in our courtyard shortly after the film Grease was released. I remember Cher in my bosses office and me wishing I could barge in and have a “meet and great” with her. I saw David “Scar” Hodo and Felipe Rose at separate times than Glenn Hughes and Randy Jones. For some reason I never saw them all at the same time except for when we were filming “Can’t Stop the Music.” I did see Donna Summer again when we were filming “Thank God It’s Friday” at a club called Oskos on La Cienega Boulevard in Hollywood / Beverly Hills. At that time, La Cienega was still considered “restaurant row” (if you ever saw The Beverly Hillbillies, you’ll know what I’m talking about). I think a Lohmans dress shop occupies that space now in a completely new building. I did meet Teri DeSario and Roberta Kelly on separate occasions. Wow, too many memories to relate here right now.

Just to get this topic back on topic, I wanted to just let you know that Nightlife Unlimited's "Love's in you" came in 2 versions. One if the album version (Unidisc ULP-06), which always sounded a bit "tame" to me. The album version is 12:13 long.
My 12" is on Unidisc as well, is called "Love is in you (no. 2)" (Uni1023), tracks at 6:51 and credits as remixers Steve Thomsan and Mike Pabon. It is a much more powerful version, with stronger bass and drums.
And that Mikey a God is... well, most days![]()
