    Marshall Hain query

    Hello,
Does anybody have informations about «Dancing in the city» by Marshall Hain? Was an extended version available at the time (in 1978, not the further 1987 or 1992 remixes)? And if it was, what's its length?
    Thank you,
    Pierre

No I think only the 7' was released BITD. I've never saw or heard an extended version. Except for the later remixes, like you have already mentioned.

Nope, I think it was just a special edition, aimed at the clubs. I never heard an (official) extended version of the song. And it was a big hit BITD, so....

I have the album, the single, the video and a later CD dance remix of Marshall Hain's "Dancing In The City." I also liked Julian Marshall's later duo Eye To Eye and Kit Hain's solo album, songs for Judy Collins etc..

To answer your question about a 1978 extended version, I don't know but I doubt it. I suspect many of the decision makers would not have considered the song quite disco. The album has great variety and quality but the other songs mostly are not very disco sounding either even if you can tap your foot to the uptempo songs.

Thank you. I've been searching myself and apparently there is no long version of the song.
