who sang this song, "L.O.V.E. got a hold on me".
A buddy of mine said that it was by Love & Kisses (Alec R Costandinos).
But for some reason, what I'm able to recall the song had a more funk style to it (a la Jefferey Osborne - L.T.D.).
I could be wrong, that's why I need help.

you can avoid that with choosing 'Disable smilies in text' when posting, if I'm right
or use a space between 8 & ), like 8 )

Flagio: thank you, I kind of figured that, after trying 3 times "8 )", getting a smiley each time instead; then having a correct 8 on the second line, when not using parentheses.
It's good to have confirmation, and to know why.
I've often noticed messages, even by senior members, with the smileys replacing numbers. I assumed people were using them on purpose, thinking it looked good... I guess others have been fooled by the "persistent smiley appearance syndrome"...
