The "Right On-More Break Beats & Grooves From Atlantic/Warner" Comps

I have been seeing these compilations around for quite some time over the years but never touched them. Lately, I have noticed a considerable drop in price (under $10.00) for each one. I have seen the Vol's 2,3,4 & 5. As the series is among other usually praised compilation discs, I would like to know if any of them are must-haves and if so, Which ones should be sought out first? As a general rule, I tend to stay away from compilation discs unless there is something on the disc that I can't track down the original version of. I will buy one every now and then though, Depending on how much people rant and rave about them. I should say that most of the songs contained on these sets I have never heard but of course I know plenty of the artists. Give any info you can. What are your favorites among these sets?

It looks like the sets are comprised of jazz artists doing funk much like the jazz artists like Lou Donaldson and Grant Green did at Bluenote. I think it would be worth owning. There may also be some covers of tunes and vocals but should be consistent in quality.

Thanks eddie. I'll eventually work a couple of these into one of my future orders. As I said, I really don't care for comps but sometimes you can pick up on gems that are less likely to be found in any other way on any other medium besides original albums.
