It is from Dutch artist Renee, and is called "High time he went" on CNR records (1982).
Hey guys, this song has been played a couple of times on a local 80s radio, the female voice is not unlike Kate Bush, but I can't imagine her doing something so melodic poppy. The song goes "It's high time you weeeent" or "wiiiiiiiin", which in ways of singing and tempo sounds a bit like "of chinatoooowwn, shes the queen of chinatown" by Amanda Lear.
After the chorus it's very melodic, to die for lol, i love it, then a non melodic bit, then again the melody bit, well, not many lyrics, thats why its hard to take note of more.
thanks for the help you guys!

Thank you Maarten, thank you sooooo much, I love this song, you have no idea the joy you brought to me today.
:)
Hi Maarten, do you know if a 12" or extended version was ever released for this? I snapped a 7" off eBay and there was only one copy around...
There never was a 12". I looked up Renee's details on the website of the Dutch National Pop Institute and it lists only a 7".
For those of you that have mastered my native tongue:

I see there is a 3cd collection of hers. Is it worth buying? What kind of music did she do, along the lines of "High Time He Went"?
What kind of music... well, it is pop and not dance or disco. The styles changed with the years, for instance "High time he went" is very high speed poppy, whereas "Jimmy" is almost like Dire Straits and "Come closer" is more like a down tempo pop song. The earlier releases were remakes of old Rock and Roll songs.
I actually quite like Renee... up to you to decide :-)
I found only one link to Renee's "Complete Collection" on Dutch online website BOL (if Bernie allowes, here is the link). Unfortunately there are no samples to listen to.
