I happened to get hold of the ""Gave it all to me" by MISS MAN & CO." some weeks ago and i think it's a joke. The mix is terrible...
Have I missed out on something. Do you have any history about it?
By the way, many nice albums you've found

I also managed to find a copy of 12' the bootleg mix presented as "Gave it all to me" by MISS MAN & CO. (circa 1981), known in my circle as "the Cha-Cha-Palace" cuz that was the name of the "record company" printed in big letters in the centerpiece of the record. It also says "Made in Canada". I give this one a :-P
It don't mean a thing (if ain't got that swing)

Now if you had said you'd tracked down a copy of Chic's Tres Chic, then I would have been impressed - it was the fore-runner to C'est Chic and only lasted about a week on the shop floor. Chic recalled the original because the cover was not to their liking - although I must admit a semi-dressed lady clutching a neon tube does look quite Chic - instead they chose the more demure classic Chic style of formal wear in a grand room setting - very very Chic or Tres Chic to coin a phrase.
I managed to track down a mint copy of Tres Chic a couple of years ago and I am minted that it is in my collection!
I'm going through a phase of filling gaps in my 80's disco collection and just got hold of some more Solar recordings when the label was on RCA and released it's 12" singles in the format of SOT-13, SOT-14, etc.
I reckon there was about 24 of these before they moved the label from RCA to Warner.
Just got Carrie Lucas, It's not what you got (it's how you use it) (SOT-13) and Dynasty, Do me right (SOT-14) in today's mail.
Waiting for another two to arrive, but would be pleased to learn if there is an RCA/SOLAR discography that lists all 12" singles in this sequence?
Thanks and no, I don't know much, other than it seems to be Canadian and has some gay/trannie jokes in the credits ("MISS MAN", uh, I get it :-? ). This could include the "Cha-Cha-Palace" mention itself. Found this on Yahoo:Originally Written by Noman

Of course this is far inferior to other bootleg mix records of the era like those of the "Bits & Pieces" series. There are practically no effects and it just segues from one song to another. However I really like some of the long mixes, and specially how out of the blue The Doors "Hello I love you" blends over K.I.D. "Don't stop" flawlessly. Also "A little bit of jazz" going into "Zulu" and this one into War, etc.
The sound of the record is poor compared to other 12' of the era, mainly because it's a bootleg made with other vinyl as source.
