I used to go to Probe in L.A. in 1979, where Robbie Leslie often DJ'd. There were 2 songs that were often played in the wee hours of the morning usually on Sunday mornings around 6:00 a.m. The first, "Rise" by Herb Alpert; the second "Saturday Night, Sunday Morning". Both are instrumental. "Rise" was easy to find. However, "Saturday Night, Sunday Morning," (if that's even the correct title) has been impossible for me to find. I do not know the artist of the song. It was played at the club at the same time as Rise, so, I'm assuming it was released in 1979, but I'm not sure. Does any one have a clue?
Thanks.

No offense, but coming from an ex-disco dj "anybody knows that!" At least if its the same song I'm thinking of by Thelma Houston, and I've got the 12" vinyl, with several different mixes, in storage. It was a great song for early morning Sundays and afternoon "tea parties" if you know what I mean.
Motown has disco collections remastered , have fun!
disc jockey from the mid 70s to late 80s, and got free booze for it.
How about Thelma Houston's Saturday night, sunday morning...Fantastic song, but didntt hit the charts in Europe at all...i loved it though...
I always loved to play Thelma Houston's "Saturday Night, Sunday Morning " and used it during the early night warm up period in a few clubs, but unfortunately it always reminds me of some stuped jerk that walked up to the booth to tell me "Why are you palying this song on a Friday night?I'll bet his ears are still ringing :lol:
