In the early years of disco ....one of the most rewarding labels was 20th Century ....
( review Marky's early charts )
But their overall output was quite a mixed bag . Based on chart performance (Billboard's HOT 100) ,
here is the label's list of their TEN BIGGEST SINGLES .
I , of course , have mixed them up .
So now the challenge is ...... place them in their respective proper order of HIT magnitude.8):D
Take 'em on all at once ....
or start slow.....which song belongs at the top ... as 20th Century'a biggest hit ??
1 DO YOU WANNA MAKE LOVE --- Peter McCann
2 NEVER KNEW LOVE LIKE THIS BEFORE --- Stephanie Mills
3 I LIKE DREAMING --- Kenny Nolan
4 BIGGEST PART OF ME ---Ambrosia
5 LOVE"S THEME --- Love Unlimited Orchestra
6 NEVER NEVER GONNA YOU GIVE UP --- Barry White
7 HEARTBEAT IT'S A LOVEBEAT --- DeFranco Family
8 THE MORNING AFTER --- Maureen McGovern
9 SOMETIMES WHEN WE TOUCH --- Dan Hill
10 KUNG FU FIGHTING --- Carl Douglas
????
can I suggest that your initial choice for #1 ... won't be correct ...

#2:10 KUNG FU FIGHTING --- Carl Douglas ?
Kung Fu Fighting in this list( like others 2 songs: Love's Theme and The Morning After) was at # 1.... but why I Like Dreamin'( peak only #5) in this To10 songs on 20th Century best song?
The rankings are based on chart performance ...which involves more than just how high a song finally peaked . It's based on such things as total weeks on the Top 100 as well as weeks in the Top 10 ... etc.Originally Written by shenkin2001
Therefore a song like I LIKE DREAMING ...which took forever (months ) to catch on ... winds up topping other smash 20th Century singles ...that instantly shot up to their peak , got overplayed briefly , and quickly dropped off the Hot 100 ....such as was the case with Barry White's big songs .... which were instant hits, got immediate play , then vanished ....
Wish I could find a reference for actual record sales .......
Nope,KoolChris :
#2:10 KUNG FU FIGHTING --- Carl Douglas ?
KUNG FU FIGHTING was 20th's #10 hit .....
