I really like the song
Raphael Cameron - Boogies Gonna Get Ya
Ive played the 12" inst version for years and it has such a funky flow in it and keeps you listening.
I spent quite sometime relocating a 12" again but eventually found one
I just found a 1980 LP called CAMERON (artist & title), I think I remember the cover from BITD. Produced by Randy Müller, of B.T. Express/Brass Construction fame, and released by Salsoul.
There's one track I think I remember and like a lot, called "Let's get it off" in the sleeve and "Get it off" in the centerpiece of the record (which does not have Side A and B, but X and Z).![]()
Do you remember this one?
According to AllMusic.com, the guy is called Rafael Cameron and was born in Guyana. Does this make him another Latin-disco example?
It don't mean a thing (if ain't got that swing)

Let's Get It Off was the subject of one of my very first threads here. LOVE that record and lately I've been getting into Funtown U.S.A. by him. Boogie's Gonna Get Ya is a decent track too.
Overall, he was fairly underrated.
Thanks! I will look for those tracks. Yes, "Let's get it off" is infectious; pretty funky and with a catchy vocal hook.

i have "get it off" on the flip of "funktown USA", ive only played it out a couple times but i do really like it, even if its not the best thing from that era.
Randy Mullers production and orchestration are great but Cameron has a pretty crappy gruff voice imo.
