1981 Solar Mix -- by Shep Pettibone

Opportunity Woa,

In 1981, Remix extraordinaire, Shep Pettibone from KISS-FM 98.7 in NY,

Did a mix using only three songs from the Solar label:

1: Love Thing - The Whispers

2: Fantastic Voyage - Lakeside

3: Make That Move - Shalamar

I heard it only that one time in the winter of 1981.

My question is........ was this ever a mix done on (or by) Solar Records? Or a just a fluke done by someone never to be heard again?

It was a killer mix going back and forth between these three records --- with hellified effects and every other kind of splicing and engineering I couldn't describe if I wanted to.

I am not aware of this mix, but I do have a Shalamar DMC remix by Alan Coulthard consisting of A night to remember/There it is/Over and over/I can make you feel good/I owe you one.

I also have a 12" called "The summer mix" mixed by Mario Aldini which contains three Solar artists mixes including Shalamar, Whispers, Dynasty, Lakeside, The Deele and Midnight Star.
