This sounds like a job for Jussi or Sirius.
They seem to be the co-presidents of the Amanda Lear fan club around here.
Alright there?/
JUst asking a question as I'm new to the board and all that...but huge fan of disco in all forms - admittedly "In The Bush" is one of the all time classics! Anyway getting to the point iis there anyoen in the UK who has an appreciation of the Euro Disco queen Amanda Lear - and can anyone explain her lack of success over here?? Would be great to know. The Queen Of China Town is perhaps one of teh greatest euro disco songs ever but alas didnt see the charts in the uk. Please help!!

Dear Markydefad!
Darling...stop making digs on me! I am not
Amanda-Lear´s President of her fan-club...
Besides, there are more than enough infor-
mations about Amanda at the internet.
Cosmic Love & Kisses From SIRIUS & DARKTUNES
The last info that I heard about her: She
was on the GayParade this year in Cologne.
Sirius--Don't take it serious!!! Just a joke.
Maybe it's Jussi who LOVES the Lear lady!!!

Not maybe but DEFINITELY. I for one most definitely love Amanda and welcome to the club. The Diva may never have enjoyed the chart success in England she is accustomed to in the continental Europe but nevertheless, while I spinned my tunes a few years ago in Heaven the loudest screams were for Amanda's "Follow Me" so the following is there, in England too. Check the Trax store in Soho for all the latest Lear realeses, or when in Paris, any store at all.
Amanda WAS { still is? }big in England around 1973~4 or so when she first hit the music scene...she is the tigress growling on Roxy Music's first album cover...she dueted with David Bowie at the Marquee club in the 1980 floor show in "Sorrow" from Pin-ups etc etc etc...my guess is that when her took off more so in Europe she chose to focus there..vs UK or USA where she has more of a cult following. She also had the bad luck of going thru several record labels / company failures etc....

U hit the nail on the head there Jussi old bean. Amanda, like so many 'Eurodisco' acts was only big in gay clubs in the UK. She's too classy for mainstream UK tastes! I have to physically go to the Continent to buy her records.
