Hey, I just noticed that the Boris Midney Anthology got a "re-release" in July 2005. One of the comments posted at Amazon says that the "new" version has better mastering and liner notes than the 1999 release (it definitely has new cover art). Has anyone here had a chance to compare the two? Cuz I trust you folks more than an anonymous person at Amazon...

Thanks, Videoskooter. But see, the thing is--I already have the 1999 release and I'm wondering if this repackaging is superior enough to get me to buy it again?

Svend, I did a quick check and yes, if you are a sound-purist, there's a difference in quality between the 2 releases. But....the first 1 sounded fairly good too
Thanks X 2, Videoskooter. I think I'll give it a pass cuz, outside of Beautiful Bend and USA/Euro Connection, I wasn't that entranced by Boris's other work.

this anthology makes me think Midney is the only disco producer who must own all his master recordings. I'd LOVE to know who owns Jacques Morali's. Why don't we try to find out? I'll bet the Village People's managers know. By the way, there's a sort of "Disco Revival" being held at a state fair near me in Pleasanton, California if anyone's interested....
I'm assuming that Morali's are controlled by Can't Stop productions, which I'm assuming is still controlled by Henri Belolo.Originally Written by ol'skinflint
I remember reading that Belolo refused to allow the VP to re-record a bunch of their hits, and was well within his legal right to do so.
