Mark, was he the tall guy when what's his name (for the life of me, I cannot remember right now) came out with the original group members to introduce the performance from Jersey Boys???
If anyone (THE GAYS, of course)watched the TONYS last night--
there was a rare brief glimpse of BOB CREWE today-- onstage when "Jersey Boys" won the Best Musical award. He was way over in the right hand corner of the TV screen when they did a pan down the row of folks lined up behind the acceptance speech guy---tall (head & shoulders above Frankie Valli!!) and tan and blondish and still quite sexy...although it was a only brief glimpse.;-)
Anyone else see him --besides me???:???::???::???:

NO--he wasn't with Joe Pesci...cuz he wasn't an original group member, I guess ( he was their producer/songwriter)--BUT he was onstage when the play won BEST MUSICAL. I was lookin' very hard for him and he sure looked good to me!!!

"JERSEY BOYS" is the story of The Four Seasons music career--so I guess he's a "character" in the "jukebox musical" using his music; the Broadway cast did "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" & "Who Loves You" on the Tonys.![]()

Actually, the writers approached Bob about doing it.
I saw this show and it is very, very good. Finally, they told the story of the act and those who surrounded them.
Unlike Mama Mia, which makes up a story to fit the songs(and in a clumsy way, I think), this show has more heart, because the truth about the act(The Four Seasons) is portrayed with their music. Story and music fits perfectly in an actual timeline.
The Four Seasons have a "story " ?? Who knew ???Originally Written by needlefingers
.........but then ..........don't we all :-)

It's got a mafioso background--they were "hoods" before they became pop stars. I've heard it really is good for this type of musical--and the producer thanked the group for allowing them to tell the true story--warts and all.

Yes Needlefingers, thanks so much for posting the photos! I thought maybe Bob was with the group and Joe Pesci (thanks for the reminder Mark!) because he was one of their producers. Anyway, the tall group member definitely isn't Bob Crewe. BTW, does anybody else think Bob looks a bit like Clint Eastwood???
Hey remicks, "Jersey Boys" is coming to SF in December, 2006!
Here is the website for the show:

Keefe, the "tall guy" was Bob Gaudio...group member /also a songwriter for them. Found him on a googlesearch of the afterparty.

He looks great for being 75.....
Mark, I remember him being in the group but I never knew it was Bob Gaudio. Thanks for letting me know! :-DOriginally Written by markydefad

Today a breakdown came out for casting the first national tour of JERSEY BOYS:
among the character descriptions:
[BOB CREWE] 35-45. An intelligent and flamboyant lyricist. An integral part of creating the magic of the Four Seasons. Supporting role.
