Gamble & Huff – Sold On Song
9.00pm-10.00pm BBC Radio 2
In front of a small audience at BBC Maida Vale, legendary songwriters Gamble and Huff reveal the secrets behind some of their greatest hits.
To help illustrate their work, they are joined by former lead singer of the Three Degrees Sheila Ferguson, who has recorded Gamble and Huff tracks including “Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me”, “Living For The City” and “Everybody Gets To Go To The Moon”.
Winners of the Special International Award at the Ivor Novello Awards in May 2006, Kenneth Gamble and Leon Huff have been songwriting and producing together for over 30 years, bringing a blend of soul ballads and funky dance tracks that became known as the Philly Sound. Their numerous hit records include such classics as “If You Don't Know Me By Now”, “Love Train”, “When Will I See You Again” and “Me And Mrs Jones”.
In Sold On Song, the writers talk about and give examples from some of these songs, and Sheila Ferguson sings “When Will I See You Again” and “Love Train”. The singing star is also joined by Womack & Womack to perform “You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine”.

I know I should really put this in the “New Releases, Radio, DJ Mixes, Concerts & Parties” but as I rarely visit that Forum, I’ve posted it here instead.

Also BBC Radio 2 - Nile Rodgers
BBC Radio 2 have a Nile Rodgers program for broadcast as part of their “The Producers Series”
I don’t have a date for the broadcast of this yet as the series seems to be broadcast on random basis, but if I get a date for this I’ll post it on the Forum.
