Thank you already for voting, but I'm very surprised that the 8 other albums don't get votes  I do know that the 2 leaders are the most wanted, maybe after a period I have to relaunch this with those excluded.
A.R.C:"Romeo & Juliet"
A.R.C:"Hunchback Of Notre Dame"
A.R.C:"A.R.C. And The Syncophonic Orchestra...."
A.R.C:"Winds Of Change"
Sphinx:"Judas Iscariot/Simon Peter"
Sumeria:"Golden Tears"
Paris Connection:"Paris Connection"
Love & Kisses:"Love & Kisses"
Love & Kisses:"How Much, How Much I Love You"
Love & Kisses:"You Must Be Love"
Well, a lot of uz want the man to finally ressurect his works on CD. Let's try to help the god of symphonic Disco and do a poll where you can vote which albums you would like to see groovin' again all over the globe!

Actually, the soundtrack to Trocadero Lemon Blue would be at the top of my want list...
Graham, I know and there are other productions missing too, but for a strange reason you can only have 10 options in a poll so I had to make a little selection.

The good news is that as a matter of fact Alec R. Costandinos Romeu & Juliet was already reissued on CD. The former Polygram in Japan reissued this album many years ago. And I was lucky enough to buy it through www.cdnow or www.cduniverse (I do not remember).
The CD sound quality is terrific. It has extensive liner notes...![]()

in japanese...   . (Maybe one of Discomusic.com forum member can translate to us and post it :icon_question: :icon_question: :icon_question: )
The covers (both front & back) are enhanced copies from the original covers.
The bad news is that this CD is no longer available (at least in the biggest online CD stores). I paid almost US$ 40,00 when I bought![]()

Can I vote for "Hunchback Of Notre Dame"???? Or would that make me a "HATER"????
If the old "Hunchback" gets a vote, it might be from me...:-P:icon_question:![]()
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
San, I know, maybe I should have submitted it in the poll, and left another one out of it, but unfortunately I was limited to 10 picks :(Originally Written by SandraDee
Marky, it has 1 vote! Was it you????? I've got 2 questions for you:Originally Written by markydefad
1.Do you like Alec's work? And if so:
2.Why do you hate the "Hunchback" so much?:icon_question:
I don't remember much about the Hunchback... Don't ever remember hearing Trocadero, though I understand it is something special and I have been trying to locate a copy. I do remember that I loved "Romeo & Juliet" and still do. It IS my favorite piece of music of all time.:-D
Another brilliant LP that Alec produced & never seems to get mentioned is the Tony Rallo one from 1980.:???: ;)

1) No, not particularly--sounds like Mantovanni with a disco beat to me.:roll::roll:
2) I've listened several times and NOTHING memorable, catchy, hummable ever stayed with me. Plus, I know it irritates you Costandinos lovers--so I use it when I'm feeling especially SNARKY.
oh and no I didn't vote--don't wanna be a HATAH!!!!;-)
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
Damn, I never heard that one. Is it his usual DiViNe style?????Originally Written by SandraDee

But that's the whole point. I dig Mantovani, James Last, Caravelli, Hugo Strasser, Bert Kaempfert and stuff like that :DOriginally Written by markydefad
But....Costandinos has nothing to do with that sound, nor does he get his inspiration in classical music.
Sir Alec has melted the Arabian orchestral sounds with Discobeats. That's something a lot of people seem to forget. If you listen to those orchestras with their enchanting violins, then you'll DISCOver were he got his ideas from.
Liking Costandinos however is a matter of personal taste, bien sur!:D

I *love* Costandinos but I think Romeo and Juliet is where to start--maybe double it with Hunchback? (Both would fit on one cd)
I always wonndered what happened with the above linked edition from Unidisc--did they lose the rights? most of their disco reissues are still around.
And I think much of his inspiration is from film scores and classical music--not just Arabic music despite his heritage. but I find it glorious and very rarely dos he slip into the "cheasy" side (though I admit some of his later works like Golden Tears have huge chunks I don't think anyone could dance to).
While I don't think it's even in his midlevel quality work I'ms urprised none of his album for Tina Turner has come out on Turner compilations--the title track Love Explosion especially
Anyway it's frustrating how rare his stuff is on CD--I put him right up there with Cerrone and Moroder in my list

Overall it has a funkier sound to it but it still has that glamorous swishy sound as well!;) IMO, the best track is 'Travellin Flights Of My Mind'; this is the most typical Alec R 'disco' track; all it lacks are the girly vocals/ 'disco chicks' that were ever-present on his earlier stuff. Check it out video, I'm sure you'll love it!

I happen to have the original Romeo and Juliet album issue with the blonde guy and girl on the cover from 1977/1978. It is in mint perfect condition. Does anybody have an idea what it might be worth today on ebay?:-o
Panch
Sounds liek a great find but I wouldn't get too excited--it's fairly easy to find used on vinyl....

Ebay is auctionign a series of CDs http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?from=R40&satitle=costandinos the pictures make them look fairly professional--are they?
Stay away from these like the plague as they are horrible quality bootlegs. Other members of this forum have warned others here over the years to stay away from these CDs.Originally Written by EricHG23

Damn frustrating that they manage to go for so much. I already have most on vinyl and ripped to my own CD-Rs so I'll just wait for an official release. Thanks so much for the heads up
BREAKING NEWS: Just found a copy of this album, bought it without checking it out, flipped it on da turntable and :o :o :o :o :o
GOOD GOLLY MISS MOLLY!!!!!!!
"Burnin' Alive": What A RECOOOOOOOORD! It's like the lovechild of Sir Alec and Celso Valli :-)
