Very cool, I have several editions of early Donna albums on cd and some 45s, I think those songs are on them, and I agree, The Hostage is a cool song lol.
By the way, love your picture there, I never saw an alternative No More Tears shot ;)

This German pressing contains three songs I believe were never released in the USA ( ?)
including VIRGIN MARY ...which I think is on this album only and no other ....
Greatest Hits (Atlantic, 1977)
I Feel Love
Could It Be Magic
Love To Love You - Part 1
Try Me, I Know We Can Make It
Lady Of The Night ... (features castanets !! )
I Remember Yesterday
The Hostage
Spring Affair
Virgin Mary .... ( think NIGHTS WENT OUT IN GEORGIA and lotsa strings )
Winter Melody
THE HOSTAGE is a hoot !!
In it ... Donna's husband is kidnapped and a male voice in the song ( her kidnapped husband) gives her ransom instructions on the phone and says implicity "whatever you do ......do NOT go to the police !! "
Well. the very next line of the song ... Donna .... calls the police !:evil:
AND for her efforts .... by the end of the song she's preparing to attend her dead husband's funeral !! ...
...... just delightful !:lol::lol:
What I find most interesting about this song .... is that it is quite similar in structure to SHE WORKS HARD FOR THE MONEY ....

high upon a hillside
high up where the stallion

"The Hostage" was a minor hit in parts of Europe before she made it big with "Love To Love You Baby".
I picked up that LP also--I couldn't believe how HOKEY these new to me titles were!!! (particularly "The Hostage"!!! YIKES!!!) I thought--"don't ever play this again!!":razz::razz:
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
It was a big hit in Belgium, Holland and Germany (where she was living that time).Originally Written by Graham_Start
After she met me, she recorded "Love to love you baby" and I never got paid for my inspiration.

But, Donna was the first Black girl I saw in real life and she was gorgeous. If people don't believe me: it was @ Discotheque "The Globe" in the city of H..., near Antwerp ;)
