Don't ask me why, but I happen to have a VHS copy of Roger Vadim's American remake of the movie ...AND GOD CREATED WOMAN. Yes, the one where Rebbeca De Mornay steps in Brigitte Bardot's shoes. There's a subplot involving Rebecca's dream of being a rock star (she seems to be a pretty competent bass player in the pic).
At the beginning, Rebecca is in prison singing her future would-be hit song with some inmates, there's an impromptu musical number, in which a black inmate is seen going down some stairs and doing "aaahhs" and "oooohs".
The end credits state that this black woman is no other that our known THELMA HOUSTON, which surely was asking people to not "leave her this way" (bad pun intended).
If you catch this on cable, be fast because she's no more than 30 seconds in frame. The scene happens about 10-15 minutes into the movie. And no, don't waste your time seeing the rest! :)
It don't mean a thing (if ain't got that swing)
