Ashley_K,
Thanks for the heads up on this. I'm sure others would like to be informed so if you could please add this CD to the CD section of this site at

that would be great.
This is a warning to anyone thinking of purchasing any of the “Patrick Adams/Red Greg/P&P, etc.” CD re-issues in particular the:
The Shades of Love – Keep In Touch (Body To Body) Scorpgemi/Traffic CD TEG-3305
The sound quality of tracks 1-4 on the CD is shockingly bad, one of the worst CD reissues I’ve come across, the sound quality is just pathetic.
To quote the cover: “Disco Classics from the Original Master Tapes” lies, dam lies, I think the re-mastering process used was to record a worn out record onto a wax cylinder then transfer this to computer and then use some bargain basement audio restoration software to clean it up.
Some of the other “Patrick Adams/Red Greg/P&P, etc.” re-issues are also a bit patchy when it comes to sound quality, but the above is the worst I’ve come across so far (it will take some beating).
OK rant over now.
The best sounding one so far and recommended is:
Rainbow Brown - Rainbow Brown PAP 79439 CD
Although the big click in instrumental version of “Till You Surrender” is not good.
The CD also features a previously unreleased Tom Moulton Extended Edit mix of “Let’s Go Another Round” it’s good, but not essential.

I bought a copy off of Hot Productions directly in 1998 and you're right. Out of thousands of Cds, records, and reissues, this one is the absolute worst and nothing really comes in at close second.
However, the saving grace is I found out that I really did not like this group called Shades of Love. I bought it thinking that it was a Philly group that Wendal Sawyer from Blue Magic sung in. Either way it's not the cornerstone of my collection!
Were those CDs made in Italy? I bought a Stratavarious reissue that was pressed in Italy and the quality was horrible. Like they used a dirty old vinyl record they bought at a flea market as the source.
A good Patrick Adams reissue I've come across is the Donna McGhee 'Make It Last Forever'. Great quality and it includes an earlier mix of 'It Ain't No Big Thing' Part 1 and 2 by Personal Touch as bonus cuts.
Disco Funk
I’ve submitted the Rainbow Brown CD to the main site.Originally Written by Bernie
I can’t submit the info for the Shades of Love CD, as I can’t give track times now, as I took the CD back and exchanged it for something else, I have enough CDs to use as drinks coasters.
The Shades of Love CD mentioned above is on Traffic Entertainment, but it sounds like it could be a re-issues of the Hot Productions CD or they took the tracks from a Hot Productions CD.Originally Written by eddie
When I listened to it and with the line “Disco Classics from the Original Master Tapes” on the CD I thought of Hot Productions for some reason.
I agree the Donna McGhee “Make It Last Forever” RG-1002 CD is at least a reasonably good transfer from vinyl, it’s not perfect but with the bonus cuts it makes it worth getting, and at least their not claiming it’s from the original master tapes.Originally Written by Disco Funk
I think the following CDs are being produced in the US:
Rainbow Brown “Rainbow Brown” PAP 79439, which has very good sound quality.
Donna McGhee “Make It Last Forever” RG-1002, which has good sound quality.
The Shades of Love “Keep In Touch (Body To Body)” TEG-3305, which has terrible sound quality on tracks 1-4 and should be avoided.
Another CD that has been re-issued on Traffic Entertainment is:
Sleeping Bag Records “Greatest Mixer’s Collection” TEG 76512,
Sound quality is good throughout, with the exception of Class Action “Weekend” mixes, which I think have suffered as a result of the use of audio restoration software.
