Wasn't it Public Enemy? I'm pretty sure I have one of their CD singles showing that.
Okay, who was the first rap or hip-hop artist to wear the big heavy chain with an alarm clock on it?
Thanks!

Yay Bernie! Thank you. My sister asked me because she thinks I know everything music related to the disco era. Since I didn't know (this time), I knew where to find the answer, here as always.
p.s. The dude wearing the clock scares me!
Yep; it was Public Enemy. To think that I actually bought their It Would Take A Million Nations To Hold Us Back (sic) on cassette back in 1989...

You're all wrong, it wasn't Public Enemy, it was one member of the group named Flavor Flav...
Seeeee-ya!
Yup...It was Flavor Flav who made the trend of wearing those bathroom wall clocks a fashion statement....Even if it was only for a little while. He is also the one who coined the catchphrase "I'm Clockin". I don't know about group members Professor Griff & the S1W's (Security Of The 1st World) but I do remember Chuck D & Terminator X from the group wearing those clocks too.
