    Disco-Trek Compilation collection Lp

Even back in the hey day of grand pre-disco era, there were compilations being thrown out to the gereral public for disco promos. One of these was actually recommeded by a disco magazine at the time. DISCO-TREK! By a quick look at the cover it is definitely back in the disco hey day. "Look me up" by Blue Magic, "Mama Never Told Me" by then unknown Sister Sledge, and "Time" by blossoming Jackie Moore. Wow, will we never see those days ever again! Robert. SEE ATTACHED.

This is a great record. I bought 3 or 4 copies for dirt cheap during the last dozen years, mainly for the wicked remix of Getting Uptown To Get Down by United 8. But all of the extended remixes, exclusive to this record and done by Tom Moulton, were really great. Tracks like 'Got To Get You Back' by Sons of Robin Stone, 'Call Me Back' by Clyde Brown, and 'This World' by Sweet Inspirations really speak to me as well.

I'm hoping Atlantic/WEA will get a clue and re-release this awesome album on CD.

I also have another one similar to DISCO-TREK called DISCO GOLD with cuts like "We're On The Right Track", I think Ultra Frequency did that one, and "Make Me Believe In You" by Patti Jo. It also had a disco cut called "Watusi" (or was it "Wa,Wa, Waturi") which ultimitely displayed the innocence of disco music. This was also purchased about the same time in that specific era, right off the shelf. Robert.

And many of us have this on CD. Just wish I could locate a reasonably priced copy of the other Disco Gold CD with 'Call Me Your Anything Man' on it.

Vol 2, which also had Chinese Kung Fu and Undecided Love was put out by Hot Productions. Didn't that new company that's been reissuing their CDs for dirt cheap put it out too?

CLASSICS BACK ON WAX editions, I think they're great. And a godsend for real disco buffs who want nothing but the real thing.
The only reason I'm glad I have the LPS is because I prefer the format of album covers over Cd packaging. Disco Gold "unfolded" itself with direct inside information which I thought albums gave the music a more dramatic flair. Of course, this was long before websites. Robert. See attached album with my usual "Rob" penned across the top. If that ink could talk.

My copy of "Disco Gold" CD is not a Hot Production, it was released by Sequal Records (NEMCD-452,Castle Music) and made in England , the timing listings are a bit different by a few seconds , but I'm sure they are the same versions, and the cover is exactly as the LP with "Special Disco mixes never before available on DC" across the top edge, with "Classic 1975 Disco Remix Album" sticker promoting Patti Jo's 'Make me believe in you" I have no way of knowing if this pressing is better or worse. got this one cheap, new for 6.99 USD.

I believe Disco Gold II came from one of Amazon sellers. I remember it took me a while to land a copy. I think it was used.

I also wish "DiscoTrek" was out on cd too, It was always one of my favorite compilation back then, still is, I remember the main attraction for me at the time was "Got to get you back" and "I can understand it", two in my wish list I could never find in the original 7" .8)

WOW! such a great record. Tom Moulton at his best. I also have extra vinyls of this. Some time ago a friend of mine who is into rock asked me to recommend 10 disco albums worth having in his collection, and this was one of my suggestions.
