I recall that being used in the Culture Beat CD--it was Liberace's voice. Is this what you're thinking of? Early 1990's stuff? I can pull out the CD--BUT this may have been used other places too.

You're right, Marky. That is a sound bite from an old Liberace show/record and I think it's probably been sampled a lot. I've heard it used in various remix service remixes and medleys.

Of course, anal-retentive poster that I am--I HAD to pull out the Culture Beat "Horizon" CD--and I'm wrong. The sample bit from this CD was Lawrence Welk saying "come on and hear our opening invitation to the dance" before "No Deeper Meaning".

BTW, does anyone else remember this CD?--pretty damn good, I think. Their later stuff (Mr. Vain, etc.) seemed so lame compared to this terrific CD:("I Like You, The Hyped Effect, Cherry Lips, Tell Me That you Wait, Black Flowers, No Deeper Meaning, One Good Reason, Serious, Horizon". and even a cover of Carole King's "It's Too Late".)

The Liberace sound sample was used on Maars Radio here at the same time (approx. 1991) I may have it on something, BUT it wasn't the Culture Beat CD.

Ummm...well, yes, I like this "Horizon" CD.

Should I be "Livin' in Shame" since I admitted that????
