Ellie Hope and Liquid Gold

Question for the British members:
Is Ellie Hope ( Liquid Gold) still performing?
I can't find anything on the web, she seems to be vanished after te split up of Liquid Gold, somewhere in 1985.
Is there perhaps a greatest hits compilation on CD of Liquid Gold, again, I can't find anything....!!

The most recent info I've seen online about Miss Ellie doesn't seem to indicate that she is involved in the music business (sadly).

Nothing for Liquid Gold on CD in terms of greatest hits. My Baby's Baby was on the Casablanca Story CD. That's pretty much it.

I found out she's running a pine shop (?) together with another member of Liquid Gold, somewhere in England, they are no longer into the music bussines....!
I think it's a shame that there's no greatest hits CD of Liquid Gold...!!

I have joined this site specifically to share information that some of you on here might like to know. In January of this year (2007) I visited Ellie & Ray Knott at their shop. You will be aware that they are formers members of the "Fab" group "Liquid Gold". In speaking to Ray I asked if he knew of any forthcoming plans to release a "liquid Gold" compilation cd and he replied. "Yes". If you go onto the site Adrian Baker Productions you will see that there are some details up of a forthcoming cd entitled Liquid Gold-Greatest Hits. It looks as if this cd is only going to be available by ordering and paying for it from the aforementioned site. No release date is mentioned yet. As a fan myself I am looking forward to this and thought that other fans would appreciate my sharing the information.

Many thanx for that info ian. I know nobody ever admits to liking 'Dance Yourself Dizzy' (including disco fans!) but I've always loved it & their other stuff like 'Substitute' & 'My Babys Baby'. I bought a compilation CD 'cos it included 'DYD' but was annoyed to find that there is a tiny bit of the track missing! So I look forward to this new LG comp.very much.:icon_smile:

I like "Dance Yourself Dizzy" a lot, I think it's one of THE all time Disco anthems for me!!
Actually, last week I bought a used 12 inch of "DYD" on Ebay...!! ( 7,5 min.!!)
Also "DYD"and some other Liquid Gold songs are on Youtube, check it out!!
Can you ask Ellie to share her thinking about her carrier (and Disco of course!) here on Discomusic.com??
BTW, do you have a website where I can find more about this Liquid Gold greatest hits CD (I hope the 12 inch versions will be on it..??)

Whoop-dee-doo!!! I have followed Liquid Gold since Anyway You Do It was released in the UK on Creole Records CR159 - let's hope the forthcoming CD has all the 12" versions as DYD and The Night, The Wine, The Roses are classics - D D D D D D D D Dizzy!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know whether or not Ellie would take part in an online discussion. I can tell you that in January of this year both she and Ray appeared to be in good health. Ellie kindly signed my copy of a CD single that she sang on which was produced by Chriss Peters called "My Best Friend Told Me" under the name of Dee J Summers. She did make it clear to me that she was "no longer" in the business. However, in chatting to Ray he revealed that Ellie had been approached by a local radio station with a view to Ellie giving a radio interview on her singing career. I didn't see or hear anything else about this but thats not to say that it never took place.

Just got an email from AdrianBakerProductions: the new Liquid Gold greatest hits CD is going to be released in spring/summer 2008!!

The liquid gold album is now on I-tunes but has never been released on cd, adrain baker sent me a picture of the cover a few years ago and still nothing has happened,,, all very sad!! BUT on youtube there are some old liquid gold clips along with the hope sisters first single, and also some clips of ellies solo stuff and even some un - released tracks or ones that never got on the radio!!!
