I would have to go with Unlimited Touch's first Lp for strickly disco. There's a lot of Philly albums and funk albums but there's much midtempo and Quiet Storm.
Since Disco is more single based and not album based, I was wondering what member's favorite albums would be? What would they consider the best?

"ONCE UPON A TIME" by Donna Summer would be my FIRST CHOICE......(if we're limited to one)
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
There's a lot of albums I could never ever miss, mainly concept-albums:
-Munich Machine: "Get on the Funk train"
-Alec R. Costandinos: "Romeo & Juliet"
-Alec R. Costandinos: "The Hunchback of the Notre-Dame"
-Love & Kisses: "Love & Kisses"
-Love & Kisses: "You must be love"
-Cerrone: "Love in c minor"
-Cerrone: "Cerrone's Paradise"
-Cerrone: "Supernature"
-Cerrone: "The golden touch"
-Love De-Luxe: "Again and again"

How about
The Brothers Dont' stop now.
Plastic Surprise Bang Bang
Champaign Explosion
Chocolat's Kings of Clubs and so many more!!!!
OMG, finally another member that likes this album. I thought it was just Bernie and me. Even Tom Moulton liked it and that's surprising for a Belgian studioband like the Chocolat's.Originally Written by VINYLLIFE
Too bad, that many people always connect the Chocolat's to this kinda ambient party music:

"African Queens" is redeemed by "Quiet Village"--which I love!!! Meco is campy...Disco Tex is a "ya had to be there" guilty pleasure...I don't have that Van McCoy LP...
My candidate for WORST is 'Hunchback of Notre Dame" by Mr. Costandinos--is there anything memorable or catchy on that entire LP????? "This is an Alec R. Costandinos album that I have loved since I first heard it in the late seventies. It wasn't played as often as Romeo and Juliet, but nonetheless ranks right up there with his other masterpieces. If you've never heard it be prepared for a musical treat. If you have, then relive the experience some twenty years later.
Alec R. Costandinos is of Armenian descent and achieved notoriety by co-writing on such works as "Love In C Minor" with Cerrone in 1976. However he quickly realized that he had to strike out on his own and signed with Casablanca Records to release his works. Many may recall his other works such as Romeo and Juliet, Winds of Change and a few others under his own name. Then there was "I've Found Love" and "Thank God It's Friday" under the group Love and Kisses along with other studio groups which included Sumeria and Sphinx-all of which have appeared here first at Discomusic.com in the past at one time or another
The Hunchback of Notre Dame was released after Romeo and Juliet and bears his trademark sound throughout and includes the usual cast of characters on background vocals and the engineering staff. Twenty minutes per side of beautifully woven sounds that will transport you to another world, another time. I've played this song a million times since the '70's and I can honestly tell you that I never get tired of hearing it. Even have multiple copies just in case . . . "

Since when did "reek" become a term of endearment????:o
"reek" = to give off a strong & unpleasant odor...:???::p:-o:roll:
"with Loving care" of course
To each his own, that's Van's philosphy....;-)

The album deals with exploitation, corruption, male prostitution, threesomes, and... you think it's kinda boring?Originally Written by markydefad
Seriously though, I really like this album. Not bland at all. Catchy numbers, raunchy lyrics, and it's quite unlike anything else in the genre. As for the 12" mix of "Street Talk"... it's not *that* different. More percussion, less reverb, but the same basic arrangement. If one doesn't interest you, I doubt that the other will either.
Well Graham, I guess it just doesn't stick in my brain--I've listened a number of times and it doesn't "resonate"--I don't hum anything ...it just seems like background music. to each his own......![]()
