Don Downing - Dreamworld - 5 minute version on record?

There's a version of Dreamworld that has appeared on a couple of Collectables compilations. It's a 5 minute mix with a pure drum beat between the vocal and instrumental sections. What's weird is that I haven't been able to find any record of this mix being put onto vinyl. I've got three different singles of the song - 1 with the short mix and backed with The Miracle; 2 copies of the version with the 2 1/2 minute instrumental on 1 side, and a 4 minute disco mix on the other. The 4 minute mix doesn't have a pure drum break.

Does anyone know if the 5 minute edit appeared on 45 or on some vinyl issue? It wasn't part of the Disco Gold series, and Don Downing didn't release an LP of his '74 and '75 material, so I don't know where this longer version was previously released.

According to my notes, there was an LP entitled Doctor Boogie which featured a different mix from the Tom Moulton 7" disco version. The Moulton mix was 4:13 and the lp is 5:35. Doctor Boogie came out a year or 2 after the original single mixes you have came out.

According to the All Music Guide website, the cd reissue entitled "The Very Best of Don Downing - Dream World" is basically a reissue of the Doctor Boogie lp. So I bet this is the original vinyl source of the mix you are looking for.

Thank you for clearing that one up! I didn't know that Doctor Boogie had the two old songs (Lonely Days; Dreamworld).
