A lot of that that instrumental stuff was produced just for the show.
If you like that suff you should try and track down some old episodes of the 1970's show IN SEARCH OF because there was a lot of great instrumental stuff made for that show too.
I haven't seen this show for years. I checked out the DVD for the first season, and I'm surprised at how much cool music they've played on this show. Most of it involves Fred 'Rerun' Berry breaking out the Locking with his fellow Lockers. The end credits sadly don't mention any song names. They just say Henry Mancini wrote the music, but that was just the theme as far as I know.
I will probably try posting song samples to see if anyone can ID the mainly instrumental tracks, but if you guys are familiar with the show and the music and know some of the tunes, any ideas on the track names would be appreciated.

Thanks for the tip. I actually do have the In Search Of album. I was hoping all of the tracks would sound like Phenomena Theme, but I guess Rinder & Lewis were just going for a proggy synthy kind of feel on the album rather than dance.

How many soundtracks did they release? If I am not mistaken there were well over 100 episodes and it aired from the late 1970's through the early 1980's. This is the only soundtrack I know of and it lists only 9 songs/instrumentals.
Track listing
1. time traveler (08:27)
2. a taste of ghosts (00:50)
3. phenomena theme (05:44)
4. an Atlantean dream (06:54)
5. the rise and fall of Vlad Dracula (08:00)
(this starts side 2)
6. In search of...(main title theme) (05:18)
7. Nazca lines (02:58)
8. Easter Island suite (02:50)
9. afterthought (02:24)

You really should try and track down old episodes of the show. I saw reruns of it as a child in the 1980's. There is lots of great stuff to be heard. A lot of it can be considered experimental. Some of it is damn near strange I guess. After all the program dealt with reincarnation, aliens, pyramids, life after death, the bermuda triangle etc... If sped up or slowed down the right way some of it could be used in a mix or as a sample but I do not know if samplers were available outside of a producer/studio enviroment back then.

Rinder & Lewis just made the one soundtrack album. I think I may have watched the episodes a long time ago. I recall watching some science show with Leonard Nimoy that wasn't star trek, but I could be wrong.
I didn't realize there were so many shows done. I thought they only did a season's worth back in '76.
