While I am not aware of any live recordings, I did post a photo of the entire group on stage on the Vincent Montana interview page...Originally Written by TheMaestro

I'm a great fan of the Salsoul Orchestra and I know the orchestra gave only a few concerts, I wonder if anyone knows if there is any recording available of those live concerts.
This my second try to learn if there is live footage available.
Thanks.

Bernie (Bernard Lopez)
Owner/publisher of DiscoMusic.com - on the web since 1996.

I know for a fact there is some footage somewhere in the archives of latin american spanish language television. They really need to release a dvd full of their old television program footage. Especially the old disco show from Mexico City during the 1970's.
Did the real guys tour around together (by real guys, I mean the session guys like Baker Harris and Young) with the Salsoul Orchestra, or did they have a separate group of players for the road? With many of those guys playing on so many Philly albums for other producers and labels, I didn't think they had time to tour.
Disco Funk
I do know about a legendary performance in the seventies somewhere in Canada.
That information I read on their Anthology album booklet.
THe Salsoul Orchestra Greatest Disco Hits LP released in 1978 has a picture of the entire orchestra/band on the cover and the back of the LP. ;)Originally Written by Bernie

DiscoFrank: You beat me to it. Something like 41 musicians and singers......too many to be viable.
The concert from which the photograph comes was (I guess) sponsored by WCAU 98FM for their second anniversary (of Disco programming?).
P.S. Love the bust up between Vince Montana and Tom Moulton in the comments section at the bottom of the interview. Are they both suffering from dementia?

The original "Nice 'n' Nasty" Lp's folding cover contains inside a large color picture of the Salsoul Orchestra, apparently taken at the same venue as the Promo shot in Bernie's interview but slightly different as Vince is not standing by his Vibes but leading the Orchestra instead. You can clearly make out the Sigma girls , Earl Young by the drums and what looks like a four man percussion team (Larry Washington ???). Oh yes, you can see Miss Ellen Michaels in her original full size fold out cover glory:D (back then I didn't know she was a Playmate  )
