I always loved Tene William's "Give him a love he can feel" and Jeff Redd's "You called and told me" from the early 90's.
For late 60's, I'm into Wilson Pickett and am glad to see most of his Lps reissued.
lets talk about great soul/dance 12" singles that wernt from the disco era i.e released later or maybee just one country, lets think about it and see if we can surprise each other ,this one might.......

I still quite like 'Hold Me Tight' by Robert White on Calibre Records (1985) It was/is quite danceable.
What about all of the house records who used/sampled the originals to create new songs? There are literally thousands of them. Do they count?

All Around The World from Lisa Stansfield really stands out for me. That's a song has disco ryhthm all over it. Affection, the album that has that song is a very good.

i dont think i explained that very well,i meant classic soul dance singles that wernt around in the disco era i.e recorded maybee too early for 12" release but got a belated 12" release later like the attatchment i put in the first post, al green released in the early 70s that got a 12" release in the u.k in the 80s, i thought if people threw some up there might be some surprises, i have quite a few to put up but im having trouble with the photo thing here i found it easier before, every picture i try to put up it says too big, you edit and its still too big and then i could only do it as an attatchment, dont see the url button here, but others seem to be doing it, and the posting times are doing my head in too,can that be changed to local time ?
hey nano you posted some good fotos before, share your knowledge!!!!
hey the time just got correct well its an hour out but i can live with that!

Sorry DD.
That being the case, I don't recall listening to anything 12" that wasn't disco back then.

Just a few months back someone gave me a couple boxes with a few I never knew were ever released on 12" at any time, apparently released in late 80's and the 90's by Unidisc.
Melting Pot - Booker T and the Mg's
The Hustle/Love is the answer/Soul Chacha by Van McCoy
Love to love you baby/MacArthur's park ( I believe previously available ???) Donna Summer
and Lou Rawls "you'll never find" released in the mid 80's

That Booker T "Melting Pot" track had to be a re-record. Was it?
Banbarra - Shack Up had a belated release in '84 or '85 and whoever did the long version made a right royal muck up of it. I never felt sooooo sad about a once cherished toon.
Did the Main Ingredient - Happiness Is Just Around The Bend get a belated 12" release at some point after Cuba Gooding Jnr's superb version was put out?
I have a few Stax 12" releases with old Stax faves on them.
Q--is that YOU or Gilbert Gottfried????? wink/ huge grinning teeth/ rolling eyes, etc.
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
When I finally added a CD player to my Hi Fi system to celebrate reaching forty, the first CD I bought was a Curtis mayfield box collection - and I made damn sure that it had the 8:55 version of Move On Up on it!Originally Written by DISCODISK
If it moves - funk it!!
No, eddie, it is the original Album recording and length of 8:15 , I also have the remaster original cd at the same lengh , "Soul Limbo" on the flip with the short 3:50 version of Meltin Pot., this is one of my old time faves and was surprised to see this 12" of it, and it sound pretty good too..Originally Written by eddie

I picked up a great white label US import in 2000 - The Spinners together with Dionne Warwick and I Don't Need Another Love.
Like the Al Green 12" (which I found in a second hand record shop) it has a few mixes - including a great soulful version. Glorious music - very much in the Seventies vein.
Radio 2 should have picked up on this track, played it all summer long and it should have been a massive hit record. Aaah well ....
If it moves - funk it!!
In case anyone still interested in this topic, here is a scan of the list off the sleeve of CBS' Mixed Masters 12" series that apparently came out in 89 just as my vinyl hunting days were comming to an end and therefore I missed.
I only have the copy of the O'jays' "BackStabbers/For the love of money", but I see a few that AFAIK were never released in 12" back in the day (or maybe only promos) that I'd like to get.
http://bellsouthpwp.net/m/i/mixmach/..._12_Series.jpg
Sly Stone- "Everyday People/Dance to the Music"
Harold Melvin's "the love I lost/ wake up everybody"
Labelle- "Lady Marmalade/Messing with my mind"
Jacksons- Enjoy Yourself/Show you the way to go"
Intruders/Billy Paul- "I always love my mama/Only the strong survives"
and would like to get my hands on that Sharon Riddleys "Changin'" that apparently was only a Promo and goes for big bucks.
Also in 1982 Motown released on 12" the late Willie Hutch classic and early club hit cut "Brother's gonna work it out" (5:00) on the flip of "In and out" and it sounds great!!!![]()
