Here's a chance to hear ( and maybe own!) a disco rarity .

It's THE DISCO KID by The Disco Kid ....or Hugh Masekela ... from Casablanca's earliest times .... 1975 ..... one of if not the first of Casablanca's explorations into disco ---- When they released this I doubt they had any inkling as to what degree they'd soon be pursuing this genre ... and would then go on to become disco music's biggest powerhouse ...


Maybe I've got Marvin Gaye on my mind too much right now ... but this party crowd flavored track does make me think of GOT TO GIVE IT UP in a considerably strong way
...... the crowd sounds are amzingly similar and so is the way sticks and bells are used to emphasize the 4th beat ....
