Debarge-Give it up This weeks slightly obscure find?

Debarge-Give it up is my pick this week for a slightly obscure song that didn't get much attention. It's from 1985 and from the same Motown Lp as "Rhythm of the night" and "Who's holding Donna now". What's your opinion on this dance oriented and underplayed tune. It sort of has the same rhythm and feel as Hall and Oats' "Say it isn't so".

I used to own that album. But on a related subject I discovered a singer who I think is a real ringer for El DeBarge. His name is Green Gartside, and he's the lead singer of the British synth soul group called Scritti Politti. I bought their albums "Cupid and Psyche" and "Provision" and my mouth dropped when I heard the vocals......I don't think I've heard any singer recently who sounds so similar to another. Some of the songs on those 2 albums are pretty good, too
