almost ALL of Cerrone's recordings have disappeared

from Tower Record's web site (there used to be about a dozen separate titles). I wonder if they took them off because they DID sell, or they DIDN'T. In any case, I sure wish I'd snapped up a few, especially the one with the "Love is Here"/"Love is the Answer"/"Give Me Love" medley...

Tower only sells what's in print. They don't speculate and try to turn profits when something goes out of print and becomes rare. The label that presses the Cerrone copies have probably discontinued the title probably due to lack of sales or another company buying the rights. I believe an artist as popular as him will be reiussed by another label. But I may be wrong?

    Which label was he with?

Many times an item may be listed as available when its not. When someone tries to order a store like Tower then gets the current availability status when they place an order. Sometimes companies go bankrupt like Windham Hill or Hot records.

My advise is get em' while ya can!!!

The last company to carry his titles was Unidisc, which is a Canadian company. Perhaps they don't want to carry as many Can. imports because of the rising Canadian dollar?

    Cerrone is still alive :-)

Since some time now all of Cerrone's records are available via the
    Malligator online webstore :-)

    Via www.cerrone.net and www.malligatormusic.com there is a
wealth of stuff available from this great artist :-)

    That's inaccurate.

Those aren't available via cd, and they aren't available via straight mp3 either (All our tracks are in WMA format for download.)

Nice he's gone digital.... but WMA? Meh!

    Dave,

On the lefthand top menu there are choices for artist cd and vinyl,
which offer lp's and cd's that i can put in my cart and check out..

I did not complete the order but got to the checkout without errors.
The only hook could be that stuff you order is not in stock, but the
site claims delivery within 2 weeks....

Anyone who has experience with actual purchases ?

Enjoy the music !, Peter aka DJ-Pir

Not terribly easy to find off the main site. A little inflated as well. $18 u.s.for cd's or cheap wma's....sigh.

I didn't even know Unidisc was still in business? They use to have a lot of titles on the US market including some great rare issues and disco compilations.

Of course you can also try Amazon.com and their used CDs. I see several of his titles there.
