Nice list here. LTD, you listed all the tracks I love. My wife loves Jeffrey Osborne, but I turned her on to Jeffrey with all this LTD stuff which she never knew. As you can imagine she loves it now too. 'Spring affair', probably my favorite Donna Summer track along with 'Try me'. Nice touch with the AM infused 'Have you ever been mellowed' by Olivia Newton-John. I admit I like that song from my '70's adolescence. Not exactly part of the blue-eyed soul era, but nice and mellow, no pun intended.

Hey Jazz, Olivia Newton-John was a pretty popular 70s and early 80s aussie singer mostly known for as Sammy said, am pop. I liked some of her songs especially HYEBM. I suspect you've probably heard more from her than you realize.

It surprises me that people could be unfamiliar with Olivia Newton-John, but maybe you had to grow up in the '70s, when she had her biggest successes.
Did you know she also had a few dance hits? The biggest was probably "The Rumour," an Elton John song remixed by Shep Pettibone in 1988, and "I Need Love," produced by Giorgio Moroder in 1992.

I have always been a soul/funk/jazz purist and have tended to keep away from the Bee Gees / Olivia Newton John / Abba type dance music. And I was well out of it by 1992 - as I was heavily into Indie soul at the time ...On 2002-08-06 12:31, Jeff H wrote:

Bee Gees and ABBA were flogged to death on Australian radio in the 70's. I guess ABBA had the most success in Australia and also in UK as I've got a number of 1976 Top Of The Pops episodes in my video collection which ABBA was featured on a lot of them. I guess every ABBA song from 1973-1982 hit the Australian charts.
And Bee Gees had the living **** belted out of them on radio too especially when Saturday Night Fever became the blockbuster movie of 1977. In April 1978 our pop show "Countdown" had a Saturday Night Fever dance competition and the choice of songs they picked from the SNF LP for the dance competition was very limited to the MAIN songs like "Staying Alive" Bee Gees, "You Should Be Dancing" Bee Gees, "More Than A Woman" Bee Gees, "Disco Inferno" Trammps, "Boogie Shoes" KC & The Sunshine Band. They were not the best tracks on the album, the best ones are "Calypso Breakdown" Ralph McDonald, "K-Jee" MFSB, "Open Sesame" Kool & The Gang, "Manhatten Skyline" David Shire and a few others, Countdown should of included some of those. Still we had our home-grown disco group "Dark Tan" performing "Disco Lady" on the show which was really good and Leo Sayer performed "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing" live on the show as well. I've got the episode in my video collection of Countdown episodes. Anyhow a lot of Bee Gees stuff topped the Australian charts.
As for Olivia Newton John, a lot of her music hit the Aussie charts. I honesty don't find her music that interested except for some of her disco related tracks.

There was two songs that were her favorite one is "LOVE IS A STRANGER" and the other one I cannot remember right now but it was a major hit. Hey Delight. I just gave you the opening lyrics to "Dance Sister." It came out in 1983 and was a funky uptempo groove that seems in retrospect to be a transition between Disco and House. Anyway, I have the 12" 45. It was fairly popular at parties and a few of the clubs in NYC and Beantown. I'm sure one of the local shops in your town that know jams will remember this cut. Give it a listen. You might like it.
BTW, I like your list as well. Funny, whenever I see "Let's All Chant", I remember the movie "Eyes Of Laura Mars."
