What about this one?
HI:
I am trying to identify a very old song. Maybe from 1973/74.
It stars with the sound of a thunder. Then the sound of the falling rain comes.
They sing ".. you've got me waiting for the rain to fall from..."
Without no doubt it is Philly sound.
Do you remember the title and performer?
Thanks.
Cheers,
rhessel.

rhessel,
Try "Waitin' For The Rain"....there are two versions: Fantastic Johnny C with the Philly Sound Strings and an instrumental version by just the Philly Sound Strings; briefly charted in early 1975--both versions were listed in Billboard. See year-end chart for 74-75....
both versions are on "Philadelphis Roots" cd
from 1974-75 DISCO COMPILATION CONSENSUS:
197) WAITIN' FOR THE RAIN - Philly Sounds / Philly Sounds w/ Fantastic Johnny C. (2 versions)
(Phil LA of Soul) B= 21; C= 16; Total points = 37
4 weeks on the chart (1/4 - 1/25/75); Peak: #15

Waitin' for the rain - Fantastic Johnny C
Hi Marky:
You are "the" man. It is Waitin' for the rain by Fantastic Johnny C.
I just listened the sound clip in a "famous" online web store. And it sounded really fantastic.
There is nothing like the string of the Philly Sound.
Thank you very much.
Cheers,
rhessel.
