Route 66 Disco Cover Song?

I know there was a lot of covers from television shows during the disco era. One was Peter Gunn's Theme by Deodato. I could have sworn I heard a cover of Route 66 (other than Manhattan Transfer and long before Depeche Mode). Any ideas?

You must have heard it as played by Torpedo, an obscure French 12" from 1977.

I tried to post a clip but even with Bernie's instructions I did not manage it. In any case, the track is c 132 bpm, typical girl chorus, thumping metronomical beat, sleeve has a - surprise - woman's upper torso in a tight green t-shirt.
