Ritchie Family "Where Are The Men"- Sadly Overlook

:o As we head into Pride season, I just wanna say that this tune by Ritchie Family needs to be resurrected and turned into a Pride anthem. So cheesy and so damn fun...check out the girls on RAI TV in 79 dancing along to it on YouTube. Sigh...I usually say this sort of disco is better left dead, but this one is mega fun to dance with in your undies.

I agree - this track is sadly overlooked and under-rated. Actually, the entire medley - "It's A Man's World/Where Are the Men?" is exceptional. The dramatic use of strings/horns/full orchestration is outstanding. When I saw the Ritchie Family in concert in 1983, they opened the show with the medley and did an excellent job.
I also like "Put Your Feet to the Beat" from this LP - pure 1979!!!
And, who can fault that album cover?

    Agreed...very cute LP cover...well..cute/hot.

They seemed (Ritchie Family Mark 2) to be very good dancers and singers...their little American Generation on RAI TIV in Italy had some great coreography and they really threw their hearts into it, despite the song being...well...not a personal fave.
