Anyone catch the premiere on E! last night?

Pretty hilarious, I thought. Elly May Clampett, I mean Anna Nicole Smith went house hunting in the hills of Beverly. She couldn't afford the one she wanted. She cried. She told the cameraman she wanted to go home and masturbate. She chased her doggie Sugar something under a table and her fat ass got stuck. She tested the tubs in each house with her heels on. Her boobs ("Bad Boys") kept threatening to erupt from her peasant blouse. Her butch female assistant has a tattoo of Anna Nicole on her arm. Her lawyer Howard Stern (!) told her in the limo going to a Guess party she should make a statement about the bombings in Israel. Her eyes glazed over and she kept repeating "I don't know nothnin' about nothin'" as the camera moved in. After the Guess party she got in bed and squealed "I LOVE my paparazzi".

Anna Nicole appeared DRUGGED and CONFUSED throughout. I was amused. I'll be tuning in again next week. And you????

I have never seen an episode of "The Osbournes," but I thought I'd check out Anna Nicole since she'd at least be campier.

I was aghast at how clueless she is about everything--and if it's just an act she's a better actress than anyone knew! Her behavior is endearing in that you almost feel sorry for her, but her stupidity is also sad and pathetic--and something I really don't care to witness.

We disagree on this one, my doppleganger Marky. I don't think I'll be watching a second time.

I didn't have any desire to watch "Miss Clampett" (good name, Mark!). Based upon your description Mark, I'm glad I didn't waste my time. Besides, I'm waiting for the series in October with Liza (on VH-1)!!!

I missed Elly May. I generally don't watch the so called reality based TV shows. I might catch one of her's though for obvious reasons

Reality TV --- not my thing. I'm happy to say I have never tuned my channel to an episode of any of these shows. From Survivor (reality?) on down --- couldn't care less.

    My sentiments exactly, NickNack.

Reality is infinitely more twisted and fascinating than any lame-ass TV show.

I'm a big fan of certain reality shows.

"The Real World" (especially like to watch that as part of a marathon)
"Survivor" (first 2 seasons were the best)
    "American Idol"
and "Big Brother" (LOVE this season). I accurately picked the candidates for expulsion this week: sleep-talkin' firefighter hunk Eric and his house nookie partner, Lisa.

The others bore me. BUT, you get hooked just like a good soap. And it's all about the EDITING. They shape the story or rather create the story by judiciously choosing what to show and what NOT to show.

Face it kids, it's the wave of the future. "West Wing" costs approximately $2.7 million per episode; the reality stuff is dirt cheap. Unfortunatly, I will be unemployed soon if more actors don't start working again.

Fret not, Mark, you can sign up all the former reality show has beens as they make their bids towards the acting profession! Seems like I'm constantly hearing them say they've moved to the West Coast to pursue an acting career.

Keefe, they keep coming to LA to be "stars"--BUT the reality is--very few of them will ever become "working actors". We rep clients who've won Tony Awards & Emmy Awards and they can't compete with all the movie stars who are now doing episodic TV. Every level of star (EXCEPT the select $25 Million CLUB) is working on a lower level cause there just isn't that much work to go around anymore.

Yikes! More incentive for you to come home to SF. Hey, they were filming by City Hall again today (and tying up the traffic). Any idea what they could be filming? The equipment (huge cranes with monitors on the end) and trucks they were using looked too elaborate for one of the many tv series being filmed here for next season.

Let me tell you what happened in Argentina around 3 years ago. There was a huge trend of TV game shows with actors as participants, asking questions or doing bizarre things to get their five minutes to hype their own shows. Things began to become offhand when the guys doing the game shows increased the humiliation of some games (slapping cakes, kissing a frog, physical exhausting experiences... you get the picture). Well, the equivalent of SAG went on strike over all non-fiction TV shows, and made huge parades on other programs with the tag: "WE'RE ACTORS - WE WANT TO ACT". There was a huge discussion in the mass media. Everyone was very angry. Many people were with them. Some time passed. Some stomachs began to make noises under the "WE WANT TO ACT" T-shirts. Then, after some months and when all the scandal was starting to recede on people's minds, the guys went to work again... on every TV game show imaginable.
Last year, in the trend of reality shows, we even had one "Big Brother"-like with real actors (most of them stars out of fad). It had the worst rating of all reality shows, even as it was one of the most bizarre!

    Great idea, Nano.

Maybe we can "package" all our old TV stars that no one wants anymore into a "Big Brother" show. Yeah, fat chance. I can just see Captain Steubing and Alexis Carrington & T.J. Hooker all leaving their BevHills/Malibu homes to go live in an apartment in Studio City!!!! They ain't that hard up!!!!!

Anna Nicole rules!!! Where else can an empty headed white trash bimbo cause such huge commotion with a mediocre show. Only in USA. Yes I did watch it...at least the last 5 minutes.

Anna Nicole is being trashed by the critics and just about everyone I've talked to--"cruel train-wreck reality TV" seems to be the common complaint. However, the premiere show was the highest rated ever on E!

I thought it was extremely funny and each time I see clips on the news shows trashing it, I laugh even more. It's repeating again tonight on E! if ya didn't catch it the first time. I think I need another dose of the repeat. And THIS TIME I'm gonna tape it.

Discodisk--you inquired why Elly May couldn't afford her first choice dreamhouse--she hasn't received ANY of that money, yet. It's still being contested--so she's living on what E! is paying. NOT MUCH I would guess, although she told Howard Stern (the shock jock--NOT her lawyer) that E! was paying well.

Well, the novelty may wear off soon, BUT I'm a fan. And I'll be watching every Sunday night at 10:00PM.

"I like dirty tubs" (Anna Nicole's comment when the real estate agent told her the bathtub she was getting in--wasn't that clean.) YEAH, BABY!!!!!!

The Cameraman must have a feat

    All that flesh

    Just joking

    Haven't seen it
however it must be better then the Osborne's
since Ozzy Osborne is just some well person who makes a lot of bad noise

    while Anna Nicole Smith
    was the Swimsuit Model
And has a an acting carrear along greats as Lieslie Nielsen......

The show must be really funny
did she try to masterbate in the bathtub
    or in the shower??

    Did they air it?

    NO, Sutnop...

Anna Nicole just told the cameraman and US, the viewers, that she was horny and wanted to go home and masturbate cause she hadn't had time to do it that morning. (She told Howard Stern, the Shock Jock NOT her lawyer, that she had plenty of large toys at home). She also said she hadn't had sex in TWO years. Then in the limo on the way home from the Guess party, said she wanted to go to an orgy. Oh, and in one of the homes she toured (she was just looking to RENT, by the way, NOT PURCHASE), she jumped on their pink bed and made like Ann-Margret (note spelling) in "Tommy" rolling around in the baked beans with the giant log pillow between her legs. Well, almost. She grabbed the headboard of the bed and started writhing like he was riding ...what...a love rollercoaster???!!!!

I wonder if anyone was playing the "Love Theme from Flashdance" by Helen St. John in the background???? Hmmmmm????

it seems like a lot of
intruiging things that happend in such a short time

no wonder Days of our Lives and Sunset beach (the shows I hate beyond anything) are having trouble keeping up

Personally I am all for these new types of shows if they will wipe out the latter ones.....

Where I come from the whole docu-soap thing is getting sort of '5 minutes ago'

    to use a famous remark

So The Producers have killed the shows themselves.....

The most popular show which was about people living and working in a bar.... interacting live with audience and sort being super-celeberties over a night
got killed when the producers moved it to a far off ghetto....
and made conditions nearly unbearable and brought in a huge variety of guests.....

The producers say know that they only want to produce meaningful shows like

Lets make the new Spice Girls
or lets make the new S Club
    or Brittney

meaning they have noticed that if they combine the Amateur acting into a music carrear the big hype can enable them to sell records like down priced coke in Hollywood.....

I haven't seen all of the second episode yet--I taped and the tape ran out before the end...so I'll post later on this week's shenanigans. Anna does hire a very gay interior decorator, named Bobby Trendy (his last name!!!) and she has an arm-punching match (Slug Bug, who knew???!!!) with her butch assistant Kim. They hit each other every time they spot a VW as they drive. Anna doesn't recognize the new VW's and accuses Kim of lying. Anna gets REAL pissed!!!!! Strange ...BUT TRUE!!!

    Sutnop:

Why do you hate Days of Our Lives....? It is a bit far out there for a soap at times, but the acting is tops and the characters like any good entertainment show pull you away from the humdrum of reality for an hour a day...They always seem to be shunned at the Daytime Emmys because of jealousy and clout at the bigger networks, those are the only genuine reason for being overlooked...I have been watching "Days" since 1982 when I started to go sour on Erica Kane and Company and I have been loyal ever since....I think you should go back and give it a try...

Last night on Conan O'Brien--he was doing one of his "if they mated" segments, where they show two celebrity's photos and then merge them to see what their offspring would look like.

Last night, they split screened Britney Spears with Old Fat Bastard from "Austin Powers"

    Dance Man:

It sounds like you're into soaps. I used to be, but I stopped taping/watching on a daily basis when they canceled "Santa Barbara." I now wonder where I found the time to watch a soap very night!

But I might have to get back into the routine, since I heard the news that beginning Aug. 26, "Guiding Light" will have a new cast member: Joan Collins!

It has to be at least as entertaining as watching Anna Nicole play Slug Bug!

No, I didn't watch it (to tell you the truth, I totally forgot about it last Sunday)--I just read your post!

Who needs to watch TV at all with you here to give us all the details, Ms. Rona Liz Kmetko?!
