Nah The latest edition of Waxpoetics is in "most-discerning " magazine stores now. I`m sounding like a TV commercial.

This track hasn't come up yet, as far as I can tell (LOL - I'm not wading through 12 pages of stuff). It's definitely got that LUO vibe going through it.
Disco Funk
I searched for you . You're correct .That song had not been mentioned. Horribly good one!!
Have you heard this one???
Harold Wheeler
I'd say Harold benefited a lot from the Norman Whitfield seminar held at the school ....
but there are still under the influence of Barry White ideas wafting through .
Most interesting to get an idea as to who was influential to this man musically .

I probably should have posted the Got Cha track a while ago, I've always thought the intro sounded like a Love's Theme rip off. The rest of it doesn't quite have the LUO feel. The MFSB tune probably is as close as they'd get to imitating the sound, but I don't think they were paying that much attention to BW. :)
Disco Funk

ah Disco Funk, here's one that smoothly bridges the Isaac Hayes/ Barry White sounds ..... making it all so discernibly apparent .
I'm sure hoping you'll drop by to hear it ( oh - I know , you bought it years ago !!! {snarky tongue} )
and add your always welcomed comments !!!!
LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT
stunningly beautiful lovely tune.... just as hoped for of the students attending this school.

It's been a while since I've posted, but I re-call quite a few songs that came from The School Of Love Unlimited. As I've mentioned previously, Barry brought the strings to the forefront, instead of using them as a backdrop. Alec R. Constandinos was a Master of this! Take the Romeo & Juliet, and The Pub Of Fools albums, for examples. The stings dominate the themes, but never takes away from the Funky Rhythims! Walter Murphy was another Prime Example. His 5th of Beethoven album speaks for itself. Silvetti's, Spring Rain has that Classic Operaic sound, but still has that groove in the background that you can still dance to! Salsoul Orchestra also followed this trend. They were indeed a rival to The Love Unlimited Orchestra, and to be honest with you guys, they actually borrowed some sounds from Salsoul. Take, Sweetness Is My Weakness for example. If it didn't have vocals, you'd swear it was a Salsoul record!!! In the 70's: STRINGS WERE THE THING!!! NUFF SAID

Can't confirm whether Sylvia Robinson took any classes at the school of the love unlimited.

..and did those naughty German Students from Jumbo steal into the back of the class , and ,combined with a Constandinos Correspondance Course on intros and breaks , come up with "Turn On To Love"??
(Could some one PM me with finer points of imbedding YouTube clips- I'm adrift here ....)
good observation .... a hybrid of the two (probably turned in the same project to both classes )The Disco Dentist :

Yes they did , but now after finally listening --- its kind of Barry-lite .
A TRIBUTE TO BARRY
Made me sleepy (never good in disco terms). Not grad project material imo .
