Since we are on the topic of album labels, I figured that we can talk about album covers. Some of them I found pretty fascinating while others were dull or just obnoxious. Here are some that I found interesting:

1.LIME - I love all of their album jackets
very fun, animated, somewhat 80's glam.

2.DIANA ROSS(Theme from Mahogany) - That black and white close up shot in the shadows is one of the best photos of Diana.

3.OHIO PLAYERS - Erotic and a favorite for most guys. Too bad there wasn't a scantily clad guy on the jacket dripping with honey.

4.DONNA SUMMER(Four Seasons) - I like the calendar photos that takes you throughout the seasons. I can see myself in that summer moon photo.

5.DISCO TEX - Interesting sketch of Tex and Vegas girls. It would make a nice poster plus I've always wanted to be a Las Vegas showgirl.

6.SLAVE - Man holding a baby just does something for me.

7.EARTH,WIND & FIRE - Love all of their jackets!!!!!

8.RITCHIE FAMILY(Arabian Nights/African Queens) - When I first saw the "AN" jacket I was like WOW their costumes were so gawdy and outrageous but attractive. But not as attractive as the "AQ" album.

9.RAMSEY LEWIS(SUN GODDESS) - This may be my all-time favorite!!!!!!

There are some others that I can't think of right now so tell me what jackets do you consider striking, artsy, erotic or just simply pleasing to your eyes.

Hey Delight. Ditto (no, I'm not a Rush Neanderthal) on that Slave. Hmmm, I have that Four Season Of Love album. I'll never look at the front and back cover the same way again
My inputs include the other worldly artistry on LTD's albums. Crown Heights Affair's albums had some of the sexiest women I've seen on albums. GQ's Disco Hights album cover puts me back in the day. Finally, for now, I always thought the cover of The Brothers Johnson "Look Out For #1" album was cool.
BTW, thanks for bringing up this topic Delight. While going through looking for some of these albums, I found some tunes I forgot I had or couldn't find. For example, I forgot "This Happy Feeling" was on the Disco Nights album. I also found the "Send It" album from A&S. Bernie mentioned Bourgie Bourgie on the album and I wanted to give it a listen again. I also found "Dance Sister." I love that song.

    Hustlebaby,

I really love all EWF covers (an albums)!!
    I love their jackets too!!!

In the same line, I love the cover of Roy Ayers' "The Best Of" CD. With the Red cover.

    Peace

I remember in the beginning days as a DJ, when buying an album whose cover contained a hot photo meant the album was a hit. Weird, right!!! This is without hearing the album first... For example - French Kiss - Panic
    Love & Kisses - I Found Love/Accidental Lover
There are so many more, but those are just a few.
Keep the faith and everything will come your way as time marches on!

The notorious inside cover of the first ST. TROPEZ album was reproduced into a poster. I remember a HUGE poster of it available at the Crazy Eddie's on Fordham Road in the Bronx. This was after they had restocked/renovated after the blackout: Crazy Eddie was Stripped To The Bare Walls Eddie for a bit.

Rush is an extremely conservative right wing talk show guy, heard mostly on your am dial. His followers/callers frequently greet over the phone by saying "mega dittos." Interesting side note. Fan and rush are similar in politics and an apparent liking of disco music. My Neanderthal commentary based on what I said is self explanatory.

I wonder what goes through my mind sometimes too
Really, my point is whenever in the future I look at the cover of that album I'll see Delight and not Donna

These aren't disco albums but I always loved the covers of Miles Davis', "Bitches Brew" and The Last Poets, "This is Madness".

To me EW&F is probably also the top. My best liked one however is not disco, but Electric Light Orchestra's "Out of the blue" - which is actually a pretty darn good album, too. I think this was actually done by the same (fill in Japanase name) artist who did EW&F.

I remember dreaming away looking at the ELO space ship fold out double album while listening to the track "The whale".Hmmm, maybe that reveals a lot about me...

Of course, being a true Neanderthaler, I did buy Cerrone's "Love in C-Minor", as well as the first Saint Tropez LP for the cover. But I did not buy Love And Kisses despite their saucy cover - simply because I could not and still can not stand their music (hey, wasn't this a topic some time ago - artists where you didn't understand what the hoopla was all about?).
