Mr Ray Martinez! It's been amazing reading the above posts and the info you provided.

One can count on dj Aicha blasting "Hazy Shades" from the Amant lp for dancers at The Nouveau Casino early next month in Paris, while I will certainly be spinning "In New York" at the same do. We all know and love that Passion album but few know the story behind the eyecatching, cherished, perhaps controversial cover image of that particular realese. Could you tell us something about that?

As for the Passion cover ...... uuhhmmmm!!! ...... Ok. The cover was Prelude's idea. I had submited a cover, but they said that they wanted to surprise me with something special and different. When I saw it, I loved it! Sadly, I was not at the photo session. I wish I was. By pure coincidence, my hands and arms look very similar to the ones on the cover, so you can imagine how much my friends bugged me, and questioned me. The cover made a big stir in the market. It was featured in a Playboy/Hustler type of magazine, I can't remember which of the many magazines it was. It got nominated for an award in that industry. It is a great cover indeed.

Am I correct when I think that Richie was spinning that night that I signed the record for you?

No. Actually, I was working that night. Richie had already moved on from The Anvil. It wasn't the first time we had met but I think it might have been the first time you heard me play. Anyway, you must have liked what I did with "Lady... Night" because you came up in the booth to hang. When I put the 12" back in the jacket you signed the cover with a big smile on your face. Your signature reads: "FOR NICKY --- FROM ONE GREAT LADY OF THE NIGHT TO ANOTHER. LOVE, RAY & FRIENDS". I laughed like hell at that 'cause I knew you were busting on me. It was a great night and I was glad you were having a good time.

Hope I can sign another record for out. Perhaps the new one when it comes out.

And I'll crawl all the way to Florida to get it!:grin: Take care my friend.

Thanks for liking it. It is indeed a different version. As far as I am aware, it is not available on CD (If so, it is without my authorization). I am still a couple of songs short for the new Amant CD (I want to include at least 5 new songs, and at least 6 new versions/remixes of my past releases). Maybe a new version similar to my original is worth considering. Again, thanks.
