    Bob-a-rella - Channel records 1979
I just found this record on the flea-market, and bought it because of the reference to my name (bob), and because of the kinky picture on the cover.
To my surpise the song: SPEND THE NIGHT is actually a very good disco song. The rest of the album is mediocre.
The information on the cover tells me its produced by George Lagios & Pat Desario, and it's recorded in Studio tempo, Montreal.

Does anyone know more of this group? Who are they, are they well known, other albums, who's the female singer, ....?

"Spend the Night" was a modest hit back in the day in at least one of the discos here in Pittsburgh.

I picked up the LP at a used vinyl store as well, and I agree with Nonkel's review: "Spend the Night" is a good song, but the rest of the LP is very generic.

I'd agree with that assessment as well. One other noteworthy thing about this album is the rather unusual take on Pink Floyd's "Money".

    Dear Friends!
I also like BOB-A-RELLA´s "Spend The Night"
which is for me very hardcore-pornographic.
But please listen to the beauty of "Why
Does It Rain?" ... it´s more trancey, but
    wonderful
Also there´s an 12"-Version of "Tobacco
    Road"...

I like the 100BPM sleaze track "Stop" a lot. I've used that on sexy tapes. And, I was amused to find out Bobby Viteritti has it on one of his tapes too.

"STOP!!! bam- bam- bam- bam- you're tearin' up my heart. Without a word of reason, it was so plain to see, you'd lost that lovin feelin"

Well i've got to admit that after a second headphones-on listening i start to appreciate the rest of the album equally. I guess that for my first listening i was too much focussed on the party-track: Spend the night, and ignored the rest.
And like you said Sirius, 'Why does it rain' is very spaced-trancy song, especially after the breakdown with the guitar and violins. NICENESS!
And best of all it's very BASS heavy! just like the rest of the album. And that i like very much!
Also the 'Pink Floyd Money' cover is rather unusual.(again fantastic bass and spaced sounds!) I asked my uncle (who's like the biggest Pink Floyd fan ever) if he knew it, but he never heard it before. Now he's all jalous, wanting the album too.
'Tabacco road' ain't bad either, and 'Stop' is indeed good in a sleasy-sex-tape way!

again a musical discovery at the cost of 1 Euro.

    greetz,

"Tobacco Road" was a big hit in underground discos in Italy in 1979
