Are you looking for the 12 inch specifically? The 7 inch 45 can be found in a few places online, but the 12 inch does seem to be tough.
What store did you visit in the village?
I hope somebody can help me. I have just got back from New York on a music buying trip. I obviously went to the village to buy and enquired in a store for Calhoon Dance dance dance. The owner immediately burst out laughing and said no way, it's like gold dust. Is this true? Do I wave goodbye any chance of getting this?

Here's a rule of thumb I've learned when looking for 12"s - the older the 12", the more expensive (and rarer) it is. I think it was 1976 by the time 12"s were commercially available. Also, anything that was only distributed to DJs is also more expensive, such as the earlier Disconet stuff. If you're lucky, you'll find one of those things for cheap at a garage sale or at a flea market. If you stick only to retailers who know the value of a rare record, if you do find it, it'll be mega-expensive.

Jam master, I tried 2 places close to the 'Slaughtered Lamb' pub near Bleaker Street.
Look to pay about 150 for a mint copy. Maybe less, maybe more...Originally Written by Davicillo
Do you need the 45 or the 12"? Just wondering as I may have both (I KNOW for sure I have the 45 on hand....I went on an eBay selling spree and may NOT have the 12"....but I gotta check). It is like gold dust, but not as cRaZY as some titles are. BTW- That "Gold Dust" response almost sounds like a Charlie Grappone quote...~!!
