You've probably heard of all the disco songs that were remade in big-band style by James Last and other folks like that. But did you know that Lawrence Welk and his band tried their hand at "The Hustle"? It's true! In 1976 they recorded a version of the song on a record released by Canada's Birchmount Records, and yes their version is big-band disco too.

The Baby Elephant Walk always did it for me.
Looking at the album sleeve, there are quite a few Disco toons on there. This kinda reinforces my view that Disco was a last gasp effort by the old music establishment to hold onto their status quo (only most of them chose to do it semi-anonymously).
At least most funk bands were maybe 25 years younger!!
