I was going through some of my 7" collection and came across the 1976 Roulette Record release of Gentlemen and their Lady's "Like Her!" and to my surprise after checking the credits it is written and produced by Johnny Melfi, the same producer that gave us " Sun Sun Sun", an often mentioned around here "love it or hate it" track, For those that liked "Sun Sun" check out "like her!” very nice track, a bit fast at 138 BPM but pure Disco, :P featuring Melfi's trade mark melody and horn section arrangement. Also after some digging around I found out he also wrote "Find my way" :o recorded by Cameo and remixed for the TGIF soundtrack, after a fresh listen, again Melfi's horns arrangements are evident here, can't believe I never made the connection until now :o
Any one knows any other of Melfis' releases besides his Sun Sun LP??

there is a 12" version available on a Best of Roulette CD if you can still find it, I don't have it so I cant speak about the quality.

I would also be interested in finding out about any other Johnny Melfi production. I really like the Sun Sun Sun LP. The vocals are pretty sucky (sounds like a drunk cabaret singer on helium), but the instrumentation is really cool. Too bad the LP only has part 1 of Sun Sun Sun. That 12" goes for crazy mad amount prices on Ebay. I've got it on a disco compilation from around '77. Its the entire 12" version, but the ends fade into/out of the songs around it.
