Pointer Sisters' June Pointer suffers stroke

Some sad news.. Looks like June (who was ousted from the group a few years back) recently suffered a heart attack which brought on a stroke.. :(

It seems she's been performing regularly with her sister Bonnie at disco revival shows in recent years. There's a short message about it on the Pointer Sisters official site. Looks like her drug problems have just caught up with her..

Hope she'll make it.. :(

Poor June -- she's really been in a downward spiral for the last decade or so. She made a brief appearance in a print interview Bonnie did with a local gay rag in SF not too long ago. Bonnie woke her up and made her talk to the reporter over the phone. She didn't sound like she was in good shape. Bonnie came across as manic and slightly delusional. :-?

:( I sometimes wonder about Bonnie too, if she's into the same things June's into. I know she hasn't exactly had an easy time of things lately either..
