Does anyone know anything about this?
Which Village People member was on America's Most Wanted?
What is he wanted for?
Was it shown last weekend or is it going to be shown tomorrow night?

Crackhead.
That is sad. I'll keep him in my prayers.
Very sad indeed. Hardly an America's Most Wanted case, though?
That really is sad. Talk about falling hard from grace. The guy was 70 to 80 percent of what the Village People was. I doubt they would have been as huge as they were had he none been the lead singer and co-writer of many of their tunes.
Why is he on America's most wanted list just for possessing narcotics? Isn't that like hunting deer with a bazooka?
Disco Funk
I'm thinking that it's because of his celebrity status, America's Most Wanted is making more of it than the public does.
There have been occasional reports in the media for at least 25 years of Willis' problems with booze and dope and that these were the primary reasons for his leaving the VP. I'm sorry to read this but I'm not surprised. Like many others Victor Willis has let his personnal demons control him. And at 54; how long before his demons kill him?

It's a mystery to me ........ life hands some people so much ..... a life that I can only from a distance envy ......... and yet , they've got ..... what? ... "demons" !!!!
Geesh .... ya wanna feel sorry for them .... .. but it moreso pisses me off that so much offered is so wastefully discarded.......

well truth is we all gotta go sooner ro later
True, but why hasten it? He should be enjoying his life instead of throwing it away.Originally Written by sutnop

look from where he came from... 70's era, drugs everywhere... he did make his choices.
Its all Phyllicia Allen's fault. If she hadn't wanted to do that Josephine Superstar album...
Seriously, I wonder if he actually left VP or was fired. I don't recall seeing anything about him doing any solo projects. He certainly sounds like a victim of celebrity-dom. I just hope we don't hear about him in the news one day going out the way David Ruffin did.

True - never thought of it that way. Still, a very sad story.Originally Written by efunk_adelic
I'm just saying that I think maybe something happend in his life that justified thisOriginally Written by jam master jay
people react differently to different things
Some peopole rather die then to sink back to mediocracy
and I think thats admirable in its own way
I was a Victor Willis Fan also, a Village People admirer!
It's not surprising of this, sad news for Victor because he was part of the entertainers from the music industry who've fallen to hard times based drugs back in the 70's.
I speak with Randy Jones (The VP Cowboy) occasionally and he's done well with his career (post Village People).
At least Ray Simpson (The VP Cop) is holding it down along with the other member of Village People.
My prayers goes out to Victor Willis!
I am a fan of the Village People, and it is a shame that such a great talent has resorted to such a dismal state. I pray for him as well.Originally Written by TheLordOfFlatbush

Victor Edward Willis
Captured, Mar 26, 2006
'Macho Man' Brought To Justice
Victor Willis has evaded cops and courtrooms for months now, but it all came crashing to a halt after one routine traffic stop on Sunday, March 26, 2006. San Francisco police stopped Willis sometime after midnight as he left a hotel in South San Francisco.
Cops say that Willis first gave them a fake name. Upon searching the car, cops didn't discover that the driver was the former pop star, but they say they did discover both powder and crack cocaine. When police arrested Willis and took him in for fingerprinting, they realized that they had the Village People front man in custody.
In addition to Willis' current warrants, cops say he'll be charged with lying to a peace officer, driving on a suspended license, and possession. A female acquaintance and parolee-at-large was also arrested and charged with cocaine possession.

Apparently there's been quite a bit.. I haven't followed up on it until now, but I remember getting a mysterious press release some months ago from a "lorrain" who is probably his publicist.. anyway here's the link:
VICTOR WILLIS (VILLAGE PEOPLE) TO PERFORM AGAIN!
Some more links:
Former Village People Singer Plans Rehab
Some more stories from the San Francisco Gate
Updated Wikipedia entry
He'd probably be finished his rehab by now and apparently plans to start performing again next year.. He's even got an official website up now: Victor Willis World..
In any case, hope it's true and that he's off the drugs...

Thanks neon !
here's what I culled from that WIKIPEDIA link :
On September 5, 2006, Victor Willis was ordered released from custody and into the Betty Ford Center. He was given 3 years probation and ordered to obstain from further use of drugs, which he agreed. The sentence was part of a plea bargain deal struck in July of 2006. This officially resolved all of Victor's legal troubles, as long as he does not violate the terms of his probation. And with legal troubles behind him, there's a clear path for his most anticipated return to the stage, some suggest as early as the summer of 2007, after release of his autobiography, according to his publicist. Reportedly there are numerous offers, internationally, on the table for Victor Willis including televison, recording deals and concerts. That is, if he chooses to accept any of these offers considering he has declined to do so in the past.
AND :
The star recently stated he may return to the stage in 2007 after the release of a book based on his life and days as lead singer of the Village People. Reportedly, the book also deals with the excesses of the disco era.
