Don't know where to find the 12'' version on CD.

Don't know about D-Train. I think The Best Of D-Train

    D-Train CD's

    HI Mixtape,

I am a big fan of D-Train as they were the artists that introduced me to the world of of R&B and Dance music. And while they will always be special to me I am not uncritical. Their first album "You're the one for me" was absolutely fantastic. And if you are only looking to buy one D-Train CD then that is the one I would recommend. The second album "Music" ( The first one I bought) was also terrific. Not quite in the class of their first but still a great album all the same. Though for anyone interested in D-Train, "Music" is another "must have". The third album "Something's on your mind" was a major disappointment (to me at least) and the ones after the that are, I hate to say, pretty awful.
Personally , I would not buy the "Best of" because you miss out on good tracks that were on the first two great albums to make room for mediocre tracks from later albums.

I hope this is of some help.

Tim Tam hit the nail on the head with his review!
"You're the reason why" was a great ballad from him and you miss out on all tracks from a real solid LP. A lot of times one album has a vibe or producer who is able to get the best out of the artist. Those heights may never again be achieved. (ie Toni Braxton)

"Ice Melts into rain" which is a ballad from his mid 80's Columbia period was only mediocre and when I heard it, I did not realize it was him.

Is the dub version of "You're the One for Me" on any cd? That's the version I first heard (and on r&b radio, no less).

Why don't you take your 12'' singles and LP's to a studio, preferably an independent label because it's cheaper, and ask them to remaster your records? That's way faster and you don't have to wait on major labels to release your favorite tracks. In the long run it's more expensive so I could see why you would want to wait, but for those who can't wait then to the studio we go!

What use would a studio be for this?
